1st Graded Foreign - Spider-Man (1990) #1 (UK) PC/Amiga Video Game9487

Collector BigRonnie private msg quote post Address this user
I have a rare book that CBCS (and CGC, BTW) said that they have never graded before. They both asked me to submit as much information about the book as I can when submitting.

Spider-Man (1990) #1 Foreign (UK) PC/Amiga Video Game Insert

Here's what I know about the book:
-A reported print run of 3,000.
-This book was folded in half and included in Amazing Spider-Man (PC/Amiga) video game boxes in England, Germany & Italy in 1990.
-Because of the fold, every copy has color breaks on the back cover spine.
-It looks identical to the normal UK printing, except for the missing text in 3 solid areas of the cover. -It also didn’t ship with a patch.
-Considering that every one of these books was folded in half and stuffed inside a box during shipping, the folds and color breaks on the mid-spine, rear cover should be ignored, or assumed as inherent.

Does anyone have any other information on this book that I can include when I submit?

Sorry, not for sale.

The only other one on eBay is going for $700+. Won't sell for that, but....

Definitely. Since no one has graded any copies...there's no baseline for "how much color break" or "how folded", so they could overlook it. I think about the immortal hulk comics that had the color rub issues and were still getting 9.8s, but, some of them the rub was too much, or, slightly extended beyond the "normal" manufacturing rub and took hits. You never know; just wouldn't get my hopes up too much.

@etapi65 You are 100% correct, it is not guaranteed, but I need to lobby for it.

I've only ever even seen 3 of these, and mine is the best conditioned one I've seen. Only 2 little breaks on the back.

That's pretty awesome!!! If I were you, I'd definitely send it in to CBCS!! Tim Bildhauser is the Foreign Comics expert and I'm sure he will dig up any more information on it if there is any to be found!! Either way, I hope you share a pic of it after it is graded and slabbed!

@Jesse_O Thanks Jesse, I bought this book from a collector who didn't know what he had for $10. I didn't know what I bought until recently. I think it's the 2nd scarcest printing of Spider-Man #1 (Only the Diamond Edition had less, a print run of only 700).

I am a super collector of McFarlane's SPider-Man #1. I'm obsessed, see here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/s9yhR1rLgMFc6j7r6

@kaptainmyke Unlikely. I'm stacking up the Rare SM#1s over here. Up to 3 9.9s, A Double Cover 9.8/9.8, Double Signed, The top graded Diamond, and I am starting to add the rare foreigns like Turkey & Argentina. This book is my obsession, will not be selling any, but I'm always down for a trade for something I don't have yet.

@Jesse_O Thanks Jesse, it's been a labor tracking them all down. I keep a very detailed AirTable database going just for these books. My entire collections is in CLZ as well.
