Noob Signature Question - Yellow vs Red Label9182

Collector billkruser5 private msg quote post Address this user
I'm sorry everyone if this is a dumb question. If you get a book with a COA for the signature, that is still a Red label if you turn it in to be graded correct? A Yellow label is only for witnessed as they happen signatures correct?

I want to get a Stan Lee signed Daredevil and wanted to 100% verify before I spend any money.

Don't blast me too hard board

Correct.

If it’s not witnessed by CBCS then it will be a red label.

Assuming it's authentic, of course.

@billkruser5 You don’t even need to worry about sending the CoA since it isn’t a part of the signature verification process

I don't believe this....and I know you don't care that I don't believe this. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
Correct.

Witnessed sig = yellow (CGC and CBCS)

Verified sig (COAs are irrelevant) = red (CBCS only).

COA does not equate to red label. The signature is (independently of COA) authenticated by CBCS for the red label.

You would submit under signature verification (VSP), which depending on the book will be at least $25.00 (you didn't say how old the daredevil was. Make sure when you submit, then, you select "DO NOT GRADE" if not authenticated...not sure that's the exact wording on the form, but otherwise, they'll nail you on the grade and it's likely a big waste of money (see thread here https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/8951/page/1/signature-verification/#24 ). Remember that them not being able to verify does not mean the signature is fake. It just means the variation falls outside their samples. If this was signed in the last couple of years of Stan Lee the signature were really REALLY rough looking (not saying that decreases the chance of being authenticated, just saying it's a possibility)
And depending on what you're submitting you could get it pressed and cleaned for an additional charge if you care to (https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/1872/page/1/cbcs-pressing/#1 ). Good luck to you!

Thank you all! So my only hope for a yellow label is to buy one on eBay/auction. I’m not saying red label is bad but I’ve heard the issues of getting those verified recently and that makes me nervous.

My primary goal is Daredevil #1 super low grade signed. Expectation is like a 1.5. I’m ok with that!

Yes, that's the only hope for a yellow label. Or, buying online and finding that creator at a con and getting it done yourself at the con. (assuming the creator you're looking for is still doing cons)
