Thoughts on Teen Titans 2?8410

Collector Themaxx35 private msg quote post Address this user
So I’m getting some books together for George Perez to sign. I’ve wanted a decent copy of Teen Titans 2 (first deathstroke) for awhile. But once they announced he was in Justice League the price really inflated.

Any thoughts on whether it’s worth grabbing now or will the price ever come back down?

If I get one I’d like to get Perez’s sig while I still can, which makes me want to just pull the trigger and get it.

Ever is a long time, the prices are slightly inflated, but honestly, it could get much worse for that comic with the seeming growing popularity of the Titans. You can find some decent prices on unslabbed copies. Plus, it's great to get a consistent character creation signed. Just my opinion.

Perez is 64 years old. He could be around for a few more years, but maybe not. If getting his signature is important to you, I'd say do it while you have a chance. Lots of things can happen. Plus, I think that it will be 3+ years before that comic will settle - unless the movie is a flop. IMO, it's all about how important it is to you to get the signature. If he can't make it to any con you are attending after this, how hard will you kick yourself?

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
I would probably get it. I haven't heard any new movie news, which means any movie bump is probably where it's going to be for a while (people know it will be made but there's nothing immediate to bump it higher). And Perez is on his way out of doing conventions so his signature is going to be harder to get. https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/8254/page/1/a-message-from-george-perez/

Ah!! but Perez is retiring from the convention scene after this year, last chance to get his signature in person. Maybe he will have special at home witnessed events but who knows??

Never thought of getting this book signed by him (maybe I will have to consider it??)
I'd say go for it, this is our last chance to see him in person!!

I have a different problem - I have been a Teen Titan fan for a while so already have all the TT books (64 to 84/85) books now just to decide what to get signed!! DC Presents 26, TT #1, 2, Infinity Gauntlet, Deadly Hands of Kung Fu 19 (but CBCS doesn't do magazine size - booooooooooo, booooo!!!!)
Had TT 44 singed way back and has a nice red label - maybe crack my unsigned one for a yellow??

I was really glad to get my Avengers 196 ( first full Taskmaster) signed by George Perez. I think you should find a nice copy and do it. You have to ask yourself, will it spark joy in your life? If yes, go for it.

It's the first appearance of a fan favorite villain. I think the book was actually undervalued for a long time and I don't expect it to drop in price.

Way better stated than part of what I was trying to get across; I don't consider it inflated (unlike first appearance of Deadpool...$700 for a 9.8? WTF people?). And I didn't think of it because you're already set to see him, but somewhere on this forum a message was posted from Perez where he's said his health issues are catching up to him and standing commitments for this year are it. It's made me wonder if I should pay to go to Fetish con just a few miles from my house...which I REALLY don't want to do. CBCS verified sig service makes it a possibility, but not like it's a con set-up for comic nerds. Not even sure he's signing stuff or just a speaker/panelist. Kind of wish a local shop would leverage his appearance (not that he's far away, physically) for a signing. Emerald City and Yancy Street; I'm looking at you.

So thanks for all the feedback. I may pull the trigger. I’d give everyone upvotes but I can’t get my phone to do the carebear stare yet, so hearts will be temporarily delayed

Alright, I pulled the trigger on a raw copy purportedly NM-, which looks like it could press up. It'll be a new project for @SteveRicketts here in a few weeks.

I just hope the seller will get it to me in time for C2E2 so both Wolfman and Perez can sign it.

Thanks again for everyone's feedback.

Got my copy in from the seller. Overall happy with the condition. There’s some ncb bends but the spine looks good and the corners or okay with some blunting on the bottom left. So as I suspected it will need a press and I think that will significantly improve the grade.

It’s packed up and on its way to trinity for signature and submission.

@Themaxx35 - That was listed as NM-? I hope that presses up for you.

@esaravo yeah i posted the pic showing off the bends as best as possible. Bottom line, no color breaks. I think a press will flatten them out fine - I’ve seen worse come out really well. But it won’t be a 9.8 that’s for sure.

Also they listed at nm- I did not pay nm- price for it. I could tell from the pics how it looked and made an offer accordingly. Overall for the price I paid and the press potential it has, I am cautiously optimistic.
