I assume you sent your book in for pressing? How long from the time you sent in to the time it was sold on eBay? oh you have no idea! Many books coming back worse than when they were sent, disassembled or
Not at all. Just check the other board. It’s a mess. I have pictures and receipts and a long email history on this book. Had Gerry Conway sign it and when HR sold it was listed as, “I forget who signed it” I mean come on. Several unanswered emails phone calls and texts. Many excuses published by him on the other board. “I have Covid” “I have a heart condition” “my dog ate my girlfriends chickens” (I kid you not). I sent the books, have proof of delivery, and some emails from Jackie asking for patience. Bottom line they started ghosting me and many others after NJ office closed and I never got my book back. Websites are down, phones disconnected and 0 communication. I was giving the benefit of the doubt until others found their books were sold without their knowledge. I was then able to locate my own book as well.
I have read all of the original CGC thread (the one that got locked) and some of the current thread that will no doubt get locked if CGC boardies continue to bicker with one another. That place....
I'm just curious as to when it was Mike went from having health and business issues that he struggled with to stealing clients books and selling them.
I'm saddened by it all. For the people who were stolen from and for Mike. I followed his posts on the CGC board as he was learning restoration - posting up examples and was getting advice from a few people. I used Hero Restoration back in 2012 to restore a book. The work was good,(an 8.0 restored bumped to 9.2 restored) communication was good and the work done in - for restoration - a reasonable length of time (4 months I think)at a reasonable price. Mike was even helpful by suggesting having Stan Lee sign the book and then recommending a CGC facilitator to get the signature and then graded.
I had noticed about a year ago his website got all weird - information removed and links not active - and wondered what was going on. I only learned about all the bad stuff maybe three months ago. There was a time when when his business was legit and he had a skill people were happy to pay for. Terrible that it came to this. Hey - so yeah there was a time when Mike seemed to be a 'good guy' he built up a lot of trust and a good reputation for quality work. Something changed. I sent this book to HR in NJ November 1st, 2022. Things started getting weird when it arrived at NJ, and then was forwarded to Oregon office. At the time I was like, "Great Mike will work on this personally!" Found it was sold December 2023 by an account linked to him. Found that on the CGC boards. Had called / text / emailed hero prior to the sale, but had not heard back. I knew he had health issues so I like many others gave him the benefit of the doubt. I was still hoping to get my book back. My understanding is that those who did get books back, no work was done, and no refunds were issued. I believe this was after pressure from Oregon DOJ and others.
