To get straight to the point, my entire collection of graded comics was stolen recently (along with a lot of other things). I’ve been working with the Houston Police Department ever since but wanted to reach out to the broader community for help. If anyone comes across these books or hears of them in circulation please send any information to myself or Sherrell Jackson with the Houston Police Department. Most of them are unique in some way and can be easily identified visually. Photos of each slab are linked. I can be reached at david.i.noel@gmail.com, @davidsobjects on IG, here, or by phone (please contact me and I'll send you my number). Sherrell Jackson’s contact info is: sherell.jackson@houstonpolice.org or +1-713-308-0946. If you prefer reaching out to HPD directly, their Burglary & Theft Division's main phone number is +1-713-308-0900. The Police Report / Incident Number is: 154057723W. So sorry to hear about your collection being stolen, many of those books will be very easy to identify. Looks like I follow you on Instagram (krazy4comics). I would suggest contacting @ellite_comics and @grailzcomix. They have 10's of thousands followers and they sincerely love helping the comic book community. Curious how the collection was stolen, storage locker, house break in?

Hope you get them back. Problem is the slabs have probably already been cracked and either resubmitted or sold. Did you have them in a bolted secure presidential safe?

At OP - that is one of the best “books stolen” posts I’ve ever seen. Thorough, with descriptions and photos and contacts plus with follow-up. Good luck getting your books back! |

Also, I suggest not sharing specifics like that online (which is why I snipped out the URL). Of course if you combine with a layered security setup then burglars (even pros, or perhaps especially pros) will tend to choose easier targets. Best defense is reducing info available, layering security and then having insurance commensurate to the financial risk to someone (a personal question). |

i do keep like 98% of my physical comics in storage (to save money and space been buying new issues digitally. will only get physical at conventions, or if its a must have physical or gift or oppertunity like a big sale) but the good stuff I keep at my place if my stored comics got stolen. would be a loss but nothing worth crazy bucks |

My strategy is a steel exterior door (with a deadbolt that extends into the framing) leading into my sanctum. The wife always whines that I lock it when we are gone, but I never listen. Also very few know what I have. My hoarder friends strategy is to have 3,000 full long boxes piled up on 3 floors with rare golden age and big keys mixed in randomly with copies of modern garbage books, 97% of the hoard is modern garbage books. Plus no room to look in the boxes. Works for him. |

They discussed a handful of different providers for Collectibles Insurance, which I hope everyone has and if not will go out and get as soon as possible. If your collection is of any value whatsoever that you would be upset to have erased, please do not wait to purchase it. Take it from someone who learned the hard way |

Took me almost 40 years to get what I have, no pirate or thief is going to get any of it easily. Well worth what I'm paying on a monthly or yearly basis. For insurance I would recommend beckett |

I have collectors insurance for 200k ( probably need to double the coverage) Mainly concerned about fire, I live in the foothills and every season, there's typically a fire threat. Homeowners Insurances are getting hard to find. If stolen, collectors insurance would only cover half. Not worried about theft too much. Anyone that can get through Lockjaw deserves to have the collection. |

I appreciate everyone's comments on insurance. It was something I always wanted, always knew I needed, and even tried a few times to research and purchase, but never pulled the trigger on. The policies were too annoying to read through and compare. I'd set aside the weekend after I moved everything into storage as when I would officially purchase it. If only they'd waited a few more days to ransack the place. Gahh.. so frustratinmg
