2023 CBCS Forum Holiday Gift Exchange20135

Collector Stantheman private msg quote post Address this user
Welcome to the 2023 CBCS Forum Holiday Gift Exchange!

@Jesse asked me if I would facilitate for him this year.

The rules are simple and pretty much the same as previous years

If you want to sign up, post your gift preferences here (consider giving several options) and/or PM them to me, along with your name and current address. After the sign-up period is over I'll send you a forum member's name, address, and gift preferences. You purchase and mail that person a gift, suggested value between $20 and $30. It can be one larger item, or several smaller ones. Going above is allowed but should never be expected. PM me that you have done so. Then you wait for your own gift to arrive in the mail and let me know once it has been received.

Also, PLEASE, share what you got when you get it!!!

Sign up period ends 11:59pm Pacific Time on Friday, November 17th. I'll match you guys up and send out names in the days afterward and then you're off!

Please post your preference if you will ship only CONUS or international as well.

Children, Spouses, Partners, Pets, etc of forum members are welcome to participate.

Any questions, post them here or PM me

(I STOLE MOST OF THE ABOVE FROM WHAT DIELINFINITE and Jesse posted before me.)

I know sometimes people miss the deadline, so if any of your friends here you think might interested get in touch with them now.
Happy Holidays!

I'm in! I would like to get any good story you enjoyed (like a TPB is perfectly fine), high-grade X-Men issues (obviously doesn't have to be fancy), or random Amazing Spider-Man.

I'm sure whatever it was you got me was perfect. PhantomEwan private msg quote post Address this user
Count me in. Love the giving as my prior year recipients would hopefully attest to.

I haven't aired it out. It's part of the provenance. Galen130 private msg quote post Address this user
I did this once on the ‘other’ boards a few years ago. The recipient of my gifts decided that he didn’t want what I sent and had the nerve to ask me for something else. I didn’t have what he wanted, so he sulked. I stopped participating after that. I don’t do drama, if I can help it. 🤣🤣

Can we gift items from our own collection?

Count me in. Missed out last time, so this will be my first year. Fairly new to collecting, so the majority of my comics are modern. With that being said, any keys would be great, also anything with X-23, Kitty pryde or Gambit.

I'm in.

I collect SciFi and Horror Pulps from the '30s, '40s, and '50s.

I also collect Magazines and Fanzines from the '60s and '70s. Specifically ones with Frazetta or Wrightson artwork.

I also collect '70s magazines with Star Wars covers.

I'm pretty much excited by anything Frazetta, Wrightson, or Star Wars.

I'm also trying to complete my collection of the Marvel Doctor Who series. Issues I'm missing: 1, 8, 12, 14, 17, 19–23

I'd also appreciate any of the Marvel 25th Anniversary frame covers. I have Marvel Tales 193, Muppet Babies 10, and Spectacular Spider-Man 120

Im in.

I like
Hulk,
Wrightson and Ross covers,
Spawn,
Valiant books,
the weird/unique/strange.
Early Romance with suspenseful cover lead-ins has somehow made its way into my scope.
Pre Code Horror, but wouldn’t expect it.

And I’ve been on the lookout for issues of Hip-Hop Family Tree.

I also like sunset mojitos after a long walk on the beach.

last year I had simply asked for a graded comic (it was going to be my first.) but this year the person who gets me doesnt have to (they can still if they want to.)

since it was easier for me I simply bought off ebay, last year had seller wrap, include a note and ship to who I got. probably going to do the same this year. especially considering 99% of my comics are in a storage unit (yes temp controlled). so unless i have something they'd like on me...or have the time. will be ebay or amazon once again
