I have some English comics remade in Japanese that I would like to have slabbed. Would I be able to mail these in to get them done? How would I put in information for them?

I love foreign editions! You have Japanese American comics? How cool is that! As long as a book fits in a slab, then it can get slabbed. The CBCS website should have parameters for slab dimensions somewhere. I'll confess I can't think of where off the top of my head.

Believe it or not, I can read Japanese. If you don't know titles for books, take a photo and I may be able to help. If you already know them, then just fill out the title and information - check the indicia for dates/publisher/etc. You don't translate into English, but you do have to Romanise (write out in our alphabet).

This is a Danish Spider-Man comic, and I didn't translate the title; I just left it as-is.

This is an Italian Avengers comic, and it translates as "Avengers Deluxe Presents" but it's the title in Italian on the label.

Both companies will grade foreign editions. CBCS is more consistent on labeling them correctly with the contents, although the other guys have gotten better in that area. I've submitted several foreign editions with both companies successfully.

Beautiful slabs Byrd!

Thanks! I'm happy with how both of them came out. I also have some Mexican editions, but they use our titles in English, so not good examples for my reply here.

@Bryce
Do consider sending them in! If you do, I hope you share when you get them back. I'm very curious to see them.

Thank you. Do you know how long the turn around may be for them?

I'm trying to decide what all to send in. I see the autographs may take a few months. I think I saw a few weeks on the regular site for regular comics?

Also, how do you get the image when you send them in? I'd love to get a scan of the cover if only for a wallpaper on my computer. I'd try it myself but I'm afraid to touch it.

You can see the current estimates for TATs if you click the "Turnaround Times" blue box at the top/middle of your dashboard screen. New/Modern books are a little sad at 180 days, but older books are at 40 days. If you pay extra to Express the books they'll be down to just 15 days (3 weeks) for all New/Modern/Vintage books.

If they were my books and they were older, Vintage books, I'd probably cheap out and just send them in without Express. For New/Modern books, the difference in TATs is pretty extreme, so I'd be considering paying for Express.

I've never had that done, so I'm not sure. I believe you get a file to download, but I'm not positive. Maybe someone else out there knows...?

I don't think they do imaging anymore. If they do, it will be an option on the same page where you put all the book info, choose pressing, etc.

If i remember correctly 2 of them were an "Uncanny Avengers" (I believe the cover of the tpb was of the issue which had a young thor looking up to apocalypse where story was where he was trying to kill the uncanny avengers before they were heroes) and an issue of "Avengers Arena"

Ill look around for it. I have an idea where it is. had planned on reading it....aka use google translate.
