Well I had a bad experience myself just recently. I sent my hulk 340 in that was a cgc 8.0 to get pressed and cleaned now it came back a cgc 6.5 SS Todd McFarlane

@Scifinator I got a batch of 36 comics and several of those books were seriously undergraded.

Pressed by CCS? I wouldn't send books to that horrible pressing service! Ever

Update: After spending more time with this book grade retention at 9.2 is the goal. Personally I called it an 8.5-9 with not many pressable defects. It'd be great if the grade notes had notes.

I recently won a 9.2 book on eBay graded by the cgc, and likewise, no notes.

@Scifinator, do you mind if I share progress with the Hulk #197 here? I certainly don’t want to thread bomb if I haven’t already. It kind of relates?

no I had an outside presser do the work. Book looked every bit of a 9.0+ I prepped the book for a sig myself and now it's coming back a 6.5

Ok then. What say you guys? It’s ready to ship out next week. Before anyone says the corners curve inward, notice the full back it’s on follows the same line. I’m guessing the cam was just to close.

The first pic (CBCS) looks like a solid 7.5

The second pic (CGC) looks like a solid 8.0

@Pre_Coder I also thought the CGC looks like an 8.0

Shocked the date marking was listed as a defect. I think that’s awesome. Although the year isn’t there, you know when that book was on the shelf.

Wonder if that took it down 0.5 or so. Maybe graders approach this differently now. I have 9.8s with dates on them…but they are stamps, not ink.
