As for CBCS customer service, I consider it part of the product. It definitely hurts the competitiveness of the product offering overall.

I consider it part of the product as well and if the whole submission process included CS it would be more important (i.e. you need CS to submit). But because it's very possible to submit and get your books back without ever having to speak with CS, I consider it less important. If there's an issue then CS is a pain...I get that. In all my submissions (over 25 subs) to CBCS I've had 1 issue....a label issue. While CS is important, in my opinion, its lower on the list well below Grading, Pressing, VSP and Case etc.

I agree. It would be nice, though, if they would remove CS from the returns process. CGC did that and I think it's a huge improvement. It's easy to do, includes something to sign that basically says returns CGC determines are not their fault will not be fixed free-of-charge, and then a link to generate a pre-paid label. When CGC implemented the new returns procedure, it must have taken a huge load off CS, and it also makes returns go so quickly for the customer, or at least, they have for me. I haven't had a single problem, and I've had (unfortunately) quite a few returns lately.

EGS uses cases that can be purchased off Amazon. There is no better grader or case than CBCS. Their Customer Service needs work but they are by far...the best 3rd party grader on the market with the best cases protecting your books...so CBCS does indeed have the best product and best outcome (i.e. read: most accurate grade).

Well after my third attempt this month at contacting CS, I finally got a response - sadly on voice mail. The woman said it HAD shipped (no date) and nothing is missing. But no tracking number and no grades...still. I believe some of you who addressed this are correct; some Canadians are left in the dark. Maybe it happens to Americans too?
That's a little crappy, if you ask me. Basically, one day they'll just show up at my door. Oh joy. God forbid, Fedex leaves it on my doorstep when I'm not home - while crime is at an all time high.
I should really get a Fedex account; kinda dumb not to.

@jdante
Sign up for a free fedex account. If it works like the usa if someone sends something to you you are notified.

BTW fedex is supposed to get signatures from cbcs packages so I don't think they will leave it on your door step.

Yea, they definitely upgraded their cases.
They're still EGS though.

Their website says they've partnered with Comic Skin....isn't that the cases you can buy directly from them on Amazon?

Like @Bronte said, sign up for a free FedEx account. As long as the address on the FedEx account exactly matches the address on the FedEx parcel, I think it will show up on tracking for the account. Not positive because I opened my account before I had any parcels coming, but I think you can get your tracking number that way.

Yeah, I was just being cynical. I would assume a fedex account would be linked to any incomings, but only speculating. And I do sign for my comics - but not always. And I have yet to receive a comic back from CBCS, so I wouldn't know, hence the cynicism. I'm sure it'll be alright, now; all of your confirmations have made it clearer. I just have to wait... and wait.
But seriously, what if I had The X-Men #1 in this order. Practicing obscurity? Mickey Mantle card sold for $12.6M - Imagine not getting a tracking number for that. Lol

We all know the feeling. No one's happy about it, but we just have to deal with it. Hoping for it to be resolved someday...

I imagine if what you are getting returned is a collectable in the $12 M range that you are sending down a small team of dangerous looking ex-military dudes to personally pick up and escort your collectable to it's final destination.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I'm just trying to be of any help possible given a difficult situation. I know that if I were in your place a bit of helpful advice would be appreciated.

@Bronte
Absolutely! It's much appreciated, and I think I let that be known. Sorry, if you took it out of context. I was merely painting a hypothetical; a dig at CBCS for not supplying tracking numbers. I've gotten all the love and support from this forum - a terrific alternative from the lack of support some of us are experiencing from CBCS. I got more than I asked for.
You all have been very helpful. Thank you.

Which they should have done. You have every right to be frustrated.

You're welcome for the support, and welcome to the forum!!

All my deliveries from CBCS, except one, were left on the porch with no knock on the door.

Yup. Happens at least three times out of four.

FedEx sucks...

You can tell it's a first class operation when their email is @yahoo.com.

His enthusiasm presented for the arrival of the new case almost put me to sleep. I never made it to the end.

Yeah... He seems like a nice enough guy but he really Really needs to take a course in public speaking. It wasn't an audition, dude. When making a speech/presentation, you need to look into the camera in order to engage your audience. That 100 yard stare off-camera... Like maybe he was just saying what the little voices were telling him to say...
