Hi, I am new to the forum and grading of comics. Just going through my collection and looking for ones that have value. My Amazing Spider Man #300 is one of them, and I plan to get it graded. My question is, should it also be pressed? I've looked at some of the discussions about what makes a good candidate, and I don't really see much that applies to this book. Considering the huge delays currently for pressing, I am thinking I shouldn't bother, and should just get it graded. I'd love to hear anyones thoughts on it. Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

No brainer, actually. Have it pressed (full book press, including spot pressing as needed) and slabbed. WTTB. |

Welcome to the forum! Fantastic book! I'd be inclined to get modern books pressed because they get hit harder on grade for defects. Yiu maximize your grade potential with a press. That book appears high grade! Congrats!! |

Nice book! I got my ASM 300 pressed and it jumped from a 9.4 to 9.6. On a different note, McFarlane signed it too.

As long as there isn't anything grade-limiting that pressing can't fix (like a tear), I would get it pressed. A book that expensive will go through pressing fairly quickly anyway.

For future reference, pressing and grading should always go together, unless the book is so fragile it won't allow a press. Welcome aboard.

You won't regret pressing. But you may regret not ![]() |

I’d be happy to press if you don’t want to do pressing in house so you can get your book back quicker if you like

I'd send it in for press & grade, but add a press screen. If whoever inspects the book thinks it has no pressable defects (and that looks like a very nice book), then it won't get pressed and it'll go straight to grading.

If it's worth slabbing, it's worth a press and clean. Always.

I think its a given that you need to send to a reputable presser.

@HexView, if your pressor knows his or her stuff, they will improve the grade of even a rag like you have pictured there. Believe dat.
