Collector PhantomStranger271 private msg quote post Address this user
How long does "waiting to be graded" typically last once an order has been pressed?

Hey @SteveRicketts, can you stop pressing books altogether and go find where everyone who has books waiting to be pressed are in the queue and report back here?

Hey! My books aren't even due to be pressed, but can you find out what is going on with them, then stand on your head, twirl around in circles and then tell me what is going on?

Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user
@DrWatson - I have been sooo tempted but not having your pedigree, I just bit my tongue.

oh... my.... god...that is now my new favorite word!!!!

I was going to name my boat Veni, Veneri, Vamooose-o (I came, I got an embarrassing disease, I left quickly) but frotteurism could be in the running!!

Ohhhh...The Frotteurist!!

probably leaving the name as is though - knew all the prior owners since the boat was first built in 1980 (I was 6) so I'll likely leave it as is....any whoooo...just seems like a lot to the ritual to bother

@KatKomics I also fell in love with the word the first time I heard it in context. It was in a movie, something like "my uncle went to jail for being a frotteurist on the subway".

Ha! I don't know about pedigree. It's more like the closer you get to 50, the less you really give a shit, lol.

@DrWatson Trust me, once you actually hit 50, you tend to give absolutely 0 f**ks about so much. Quite liberating really. Lol!

@DrWatson @Hexigore

Once you hit 56, just plan on laughing your fat ass off at those who think you need to give any 4 letter word on just about anything.

Now get off my lawn

What's the word on which month is currently in line for pressing

Also - any news on these orders? ( I do realize that the month of the invoice is not representative for my CAD books as they take a while to get to Dallas - I believe the March order was received in April, the April in May and the May in August?)

Man, I hate doing this and taking up time better spent at the pancake grill. @SteveRicketts Can you update me on order 21-1F8F4F1 please? Fast Pass, Fast Press, a couple of press screening.

Maybe I'll slip a $20 inside my next pressing submission.

Do you ever find anything weird like cash or bookmarks inside submissions?

We do find odd items in books from time to time. One of the weirdest was two nude Polaroid photos of a lady circa late '60s/early '70s. The time is just my best estimation based on the magazine it was in and other factors. Anything found in books of any significance gets mailed back to the customer, and yes, that includes cash, which is one of the most common things we find inside of comics. Yes we mailed the photos back to the customer. 😆

@SteveRicketts

So, finally got my first pressing order back (submitted end of January) and I'm curious if there are pre/post pressing notes for orders available similar to the grading notes?
