Since my remaining June 8th delivered Press submissions are near completion, and because I believe the TAT's on the Main page are still errantly inflated, in order to continue to give some intel on actual movement, I will post updates on my remaining Press submissions which were delivered to CBCS between June 21st, 2021 and Feb 24th, 2022. I will update as I see dashboard updates or received emails.

The dates listed below are the actual dates delivered to CBCS, NOT the Invoice date as the invoice date has NO baring on the estimated TAT's. TAT's start 1-2 business days after delivery. None of my submissions has any Fast Pass nor Fast Presses. Also note, the 3 late June submissions still show "Received", but based on commentary by Steve Ricketts, I suspect those may already be out of the Pressing Room and just have not been updated in the Dashboard.

Good afternoon,

So how can one find out about status of their books? I see that (your) deliveries of 2/24/2022 , with no fast pass, etc (I guess basic processing) are in "pressing room".

I have 8 books that were delivered on October 12, 2021, basic pressing and grading , and have seen no movement (or I cannot find out how to access information). I was told by customer service back in December that my books were through pressing , but despite several more calls and several emails to Darryl, no responses since.

Would appreciate any insight.

@Old55 - Hi. It is not unusual at times for Submissions on you Dashboard to not be updated and not even show that they are in the Pressing room. Cases to that point. Today I had a submission that was delivered to CBCS on 6/21/21 and it only showed "Received" until this morning, and it updated to "Grading". Two more of my submissions that still show "Received" are:

This information may be on your dashboard, but also, when you are in your dashboard, click the "Print Invoice" hyperlink, as sometimes, the invoice PDF will show a more updated status.

With October delivery, you are several months away. As long as you have a delivery confirmation from you carrier, you should be fine.

Yes, you got it. Now, let's fast forward a few months down the road. If they are caught up on the notifications side, you would receive an email letting you know that your submission has moved to "Grading", then "Labels", and so on. But while these notifications were pretty accurate and updated in a timely manner a couple of years ago, it has been very spotty since, as you are experiencing. So, maybe at the end of each month you can come back and check the Print Invoices hyperlink, but again, that may not even get updated. But, it seems to be getting better.

It likely means they are waiting to be pressed. I have an order from July that also says pressing, and given other updates on the forum I would be shocked if they're anywhere close to October.

@Bobashek - Should be soon. Even though they have completed my 6/21 press, there a still a couple of the 11 from my june 8th deliveries that are still “Received”.

On my print invoice it says ImagingSP , does that mean it's being imaged? On my dashboard is just says received and processing. Thanks for the help.

Some people have said that ImagingSP means its been selected as a Featured Comic. While that is possible, I believe it also means they are or have submitted the book for signature verification. Were any of your books on that invoice signed that were you having the signatures verified? Not to long after I submitted some books at a convention in early December 2021 that were for signature verification and pressing, they still show ImagingSP on the invoice (due to the dashboard not being updated) but I found it odd that they would select one of those books as a Featured Comic when it hadn't even gone into Pressing yet so I suspect ImagingSP means a few different things. Naturally it would be great if one of my books was selected as a Featured Comic which generally is a good sign of a grade higher than 9.8, but I feel its more about the book being prepped for the signature verification.

@Kinsella5 the comic does have sig verification needed. It has 4 signatures.

Would be cool if it was selected as a featured comic as it's a #1 Simpsons Comics with matt groening, bill morrison, and Steve and Cindy Vance signatures.

I submitted it with sig verification, fast pressing, imaging, and encapsulation.

I had a pressing order marked as pressing and mow it's back in processing. Is that the typical order until it hits the grading room?

That happened to me weeks ago regarding my June 2021 submission, it was in Pressing and now shows "Processing". The bottom line, the dashboard is broken.

@etapi65 - It happened to a few of the submissions in my update post. Also some of the "Heat Seal" reverted back to "Grading", then went to "Ready for Pickup/Shipping? Ship happens.

I bought one, pressed my own book and got 2 9.8s and a 9.4 on my first sub. The 9.4 was my fault as it wasn't a nicer book when I bought it but I bought it just to practice pressing on. Just saying, with a little practice, you can do it yourself.

Now, that being said, it is possible that your submission is already out of press and in grading, and they have not updated your dashboard yet. On more recent submissions, it seems that are fairly up to date, but the older submissions may still not be up to date in the process.


So why doesn't CBCS stop sending me email after email begging for more books and hire more people to work on the millions of books they have lying around? I understand it's a skill, so teach people or hire qualified people who can grade, press, whatever. They're making money hand over fist since Covid came around, it's time to spend it on some true customer service (as in doing the service we paid them for). Also, my TAT shouldn't change just because they got more subs. If they can't get the pressing deal to work in a timely matter then pass the pressing business onto another company and get our books done. I'm literally losing money now bc Love and Thunder is coming and the 1st app of Gor will be pretty much worthless once the MCU kills him onscreen. All we want is what we paid for and when we were promised we'd get them back. I guess it's too much to ask nowadays for a company to keep a promise to their customers. It's just aggrevating as hell.

you can buy all the same equipment and materials yes??
ours will likely look like sh!t when compared to a pro -yes!!!

could we with much experience and trial and error get the same results - probably

when I need something worth decent $$ pressed, even with my own skills brought up - would I do it -hell NO!!


Why is everyone so scared to buy a press and practice on cheap books? That's what I did, and within a month I was pressing without problems.
