When you get charged in my experience can vary a bit. But the screening is to determine if pressing is likely to improve the grade. So they likely will not charge until they know how much to charge. But it can vary some as far as when they charge. |

It's become a long thread but lots of good info here: https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/9896/page/8/cbcs-101-a-newbies-guide/ For press screen, you pay the $5 or whatever up front and then your books sit through the pressing TAT. When they get in front of the presser, they decide if a press would improve the grade or not. If not, you aren't charged anything else for pressing and it goes to grading. If yes, they get pressed and then go on for grading. In the past I've been charged the pressing fee when they were pressed but more recently I haven't been charged until the order was graded and finished. The screen fee is completely separate from the actual pressing fee, which is another common question (i.e., the $5 does not go toward your pressing fee if they press it). |
