Because some people, including myself, have a strong aversion to snakes. I would prefer to metaphorically slide down a chute as opposed to a snake. I used to have nightmares about snakes. |

The ancient India Mokshapat or Moksha Patamu was adopted by the English as “Snakes and Ladders with modifications, number of snakes and ladders equalized and religious aspects removed. Later introduced to the U.S as “Chutes and Ladders” (probably for sake of trade mark / copyright over anything) |

Then I get a message saying it was signed for by someone at the post office at 6 something PM this evening. (Obviously closed because it's after hours)
