My previous order, submitted March 12, had pressing requested. It was submitted to the Canadian branch, so it's manual. I have heard *nothing* about it through postal tracking shows it was received. I submitted a status request to CBCs, but have heard nothing back. I've received no indication from CBCS that they even have it.

So, I ask, is this normal for CBCS when dealing with Canadian submissions?

In non-covid times the the Canadian process is very smooth. Books get sent to the Canadian office...a week or two later when they have enough books they all get sent to the US office and proceed as normal.

In the covid times I would and am staying away from the Canadian office. They have 1 employee who resides in the US so is not able to cross the border - and it sounds like maybe mid to late 2021 before the border will open again - maybe longer as it is dependent on the situation getting better down there!

Not sure if books sent to the Canadian office are getting forwarded to the US office but any books already in the system will apparently make their way back to their Canadian owners.

Also not sure what this means for on-going business in Canada - the covid might have killed it before it really had a chance to take off....

Personally I only make 2 or 3 submissions a year and I might take a break for the next year or two to see how the future pans out.

For the most part, a few 9.6’s I thought were 9.8’s but I’m sure that happens to everyone. 61 completed 7 more from December now waiting.

So, I'm new here. I want to send in my wife's Flash 123 for grading but need it back less than a month for her birthday. If I am reading everyone's posts correctly it looks like FastPress on a Rapid grading would still take ~ 3 months just on the pressing? Is that an accurate statement?

Last time I did fast press it took 2 mos to come back to me this was in 12/2019

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
I had a fast press order turn around in about 2 months this calendar year. Rapid-tier pressing is supposed to be 3-4 weeks in good times, and if you fast-pressed it that would be 1-2 weeks. Even if they knock it out that fast, once you add grading time and shipping time I think it would be dicey.

You will get your books back before I get my 12/2019 back more then likely. The new slabs are worth the wait especially if you have experience handling graded books. They blow everything else out the water, but I’ve never handled a PGX slab.

The clarity imho, if it was a window you would run into it thinking it’s open. Now they are rigid like the cgc cases w/o the faults *knock on wood, only draw back would be cracking them open, probably more difficult.

Also, the way the new slabs are molded they don’t have the unsightly mold breaks along the edges that people mistake for damage.

@teacha777 Yeah, cracking them is much different

The holes at the bottom are a option but we recommend opening by cracking the top corner and working the case open much like the way you would crack a competitor case.

WARNING: CRACKING OPEN THE NEW CASES WILL DAMAGE YOUR CASE UNLIKE THE ORIGINAL VERSION.!!

Since the case is completely sealed sonically you will have to crack the corner with a tool of your choice then work along the sides to open. See images below.

Again you can use the bottom holes as a starting point, but working from the top will be much easier we think.

That said I know you guys will become pros in no time and have your own tricks you can share lol

I'm not sure about this...I tried cracking out the old CBCS slab...the ones with the clips at the corners....its was freaking crazy hard getting my books out. The plastic is slightly softer/less rigid so there's alot of "give" to them...they don't break easily....I injured my hand with a screwdriver trying to crack those things open lol!!

Thanks for the updates. I almost cut my throat trying to open a case one time. These are some pretty cool cases. Pretty tough to counterfeit. That alone will help me sleep at night.

That was one of the problems. There were a few times where I was able to get the clips off without breaking them so I was able to remove the book and still have an intact case that I could reassemble

I have emailed multiple times and have called into the mainline twice now to request my books be returned to me. I realize I am at fault for not reading the forums for an update and submitting a book for pressing, but it has been over a month since my initial request to have my books returned to me. I am a fan of CBCS and will continue to use your services in the future, but this delay/lack of response is unacceptable. Please return my books to me ASAP.
