I’ve been browsing EBAY today and saw a handful of graded books from a company called EGS.

I checked out their site and then read around about them. There is no way that company is sustainable or will attract serious collectors with their grading policies and encapsulation methods.

Anyone else here see their products?

Tony has only been in business a short while and is in the process of having his own slabs made. In the meantime he's using four security stickers on Comic Skin self slabbers. You might want to take a look at his custom labels as they are gaining quite a following. EGS has been featured on YouTube videos by economicsincomics and regiecollects. Check them out.

@antoniofett interviewed him for one of his comic grading interviews. Here is the thread where we talked about him. Personally, I wouldn't trust him to grade anything. If you go to the linked thread, my reasons are spelt out on the second page.

I checked the site. They have three levels(?) of grading, at $20, $35, and $55, for modern, with no explanation as to the differences between them.
Is it that at the first level they just look at the cover, but at the highest they flip it over and look at the back, and open it to look at the inside? Poorly presented website. I love the link to reviews, that goes nowhere. Might be a good start at a business, but they have a long way to go, even after they get their own cases.

I'd like to say I still turned out alright, but that would be a lie. flanders private msg quote post Address this user

What makes this even more sad is that there's already a blueprint from several other companies and EGS seems too incompetent to even follow all the successful aspects of that blueprint.
