Don't we all just imagine that little find in a thrift store or garage sale. I can imagine the chills you were getting as you went through them, finding one note-worthy book after another.

When I go to goodwills-thrift stores, I search mainly for Dark Horse Omnibus books, but I also look for any graphic novels.

Whether it is for comics or any graphic novel, start to establish repertoire and network with different store staff from different stores about possibly contacting you when comic books and graphic novels ever come in to their goodwill stores. I’ve been networking with different stores, and have even gone to lengths of dropping off a complimentary lunch pizza from time to time at a few stores. When the new stuff comes in, I definitely get calls and texts. It is very interesting what books I have obtained by doing this.

Other good places to search for any graphic novels ..

Book and Record Exchange Stores
Facebook Marketplace
Half Price Books
Mercari
Physical Goodwill Stores or ShopGoodWill.com also has online auctions.
Thrift Stores
Used Book Stores
Yard Sales-Estate Sales
Craigslist (Every once in a while I find stuff here)
Librarys sometimes have sales.

I once bought a bag of 4 coverless comics for $1. One of them was an Incredible Hulk #181 with Marvel Value Stamp.

Great find, the goodwills in my area aren't lazy enough to not look something up before pricing it and you can generally find things off Ebay cheaper than what they have priced in the store.

@EbaySeller

Sometime around 1990 I picked up X-Men 95 along with ASM 121 & 122 at a garage sale near me for about $20 each. Had all three pressed and two of them graded around 2010. Not a bad return when I sold them over the next year or two.

You are lucky Zombie_Head because Goodwill has a department that goes through all donations and picks out collectible items and puts them up on ShopGoodwill.com auction site. The people at your local Goodwill store must not know the value of comics. Those never would have been sold at my local Goodwill store, would have went straight to the auction site. I know the guy who works at my Goodwill and he is very knowledgeable to the value of comics.
