Question about an “art” slab!10311

Collector Tr3ntOw3ns private msg quote post Address this user
So i bought a blank cover that has been drawn on in ink by an artist who primarily operates out of an Instagram page. There wasn’t a way of a witness verifying that, so am i not eligible to get it slabbed as art? Also, the art is incredibly specific and i’m going to get it signed by someone this weekend at a convention. If i take a witness with me for the signature, but don’t have anything for the drawing on the cover, what can i submit it under that still verifies the signature?

Nothing like waiting until the last moment. LOL!!!

You can get a blue ART label. It will give the book info. I can't recall exactly what it says about the cover, but I believe it is very generic with no mention of any names. If you get it signed and witnessed, my guess is that it would remain blue with a note that a signature was witnessed. I'd assume that CBCS is going to be there if you are planning on getting the signature witnessed. Best bet, ask them.

You can get it slabbed in an ART label but it will only qualify for a blue label (with no mention of the signature but should say “sketch on cover”) since it wasn’t witnessed and I assume the artist is not well-known enough to be verified for a red label.

If you have an AW witness the signing you can submit it for an Authentic/Yellow label. The label will have no grade, will only list the witnessed signature on the label, and say something like “sketch on cover.”

For more information about the various submitting options, check out the Newbie’s Guide to Submitting

Thank you! I was just curious about the grading options given the weird situation of having one thing witnessed and one thing not witnessed. I’ll make sure to ask at the CBCS booth on Sunday to be extra sure

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
I have a sketched blank from a local guy who even sent in the CBCS paperwork saying that he did it. I assume he isn't in their database at all, so it came back as a generic blue art slab. I didn't have the additional signature part of your situation though.

This is what an art slab with witnessed signature will look like.
