Want To Trade: Silverage/Goldenage Slabs Only9999

It was a one trick pony show but always hilarious. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
I'm looking to trade these slabs for other silverage or goldenage books.

I prefer to trade multiple books for a single.

Must be CGC or CBCS.

If you're intetested please PM me with offer.

No guarantees a deal will be struck but I'm motivated to trade for books I don't already own.

Further pictures are available for potential deals.

Being new and all, what is a PGX book? I don't think I have any, but don't want to run afoul of the rules.

My eBay store is saddlerivercomics

I currently have about 1,500 listings.

Many of these are silver and golden age.

If I have anything you want to trade for I would be interested in your books.

A piece of sh!t grading company that's so crooked that when the business dies you'll have to screw it in ground.

I tried to send you two PMs and both are under review.

If you want to trade books or buy directly through Paypal (and receive a discount) it is never a good idea to send and ebay message to a seller or possible trade partner.

Ebay is cracking down and could do any of the following to the seller (and perhaps to you as well):

1. Charge the seller ebay fees if they take down the listing assuming that they sold the book outside of ebay to avoid the fee.

2. Nerf the seller's account by cutting number / amount of total listinfs and de-prioritizing searches for several months.

3. Close the seller's account

You can PM me on this forum or send to my e-mail at pdonohoe9@gmail.com

it's a third party comic book grading company that everyone loves to hate (i've seen the phony video) and no one (so far) has shown or told me a good reason to hate them or even dislike them. I've read enough and seen enough about all 3 companies to make me a little leery of all 3 companies (this comes form these forums and personal experiences). I think PGX's slabs are way better and have no issues with newton rings.But due to the bad reputation everyone loves spreading, even I had to bend to the pressure in order to keep the value of my books up and use both CBCS (primary) and CGC (secondary) for my book grading. anyway that's my two cents.

if anyone cares, not trying to start an argument, maybe a discussion.

I just realized, i am hijacking my good friend (a little presumptuous, I know) GAC's thread. sorry buddy. i didn't mean to.

I have personally seen and many users here have experienced how off PGX’s grading is. They have a long running reputation for missing restoration. They’ve also been caught grading books and selling them themselves. Which destroys their impartiality.

@00slim,

I believe that you have this experience and assume that you are not just repeating rumors because many times, i've seen this to be the case. But if you read a super long thread over at CGC about their partnership with a person that restored (trimmed) many books that CGC missed and had to make good to the end buyer once it was discovered you would see that these kinds of things run deep and everywhere. but I have no personal experience with PGX issues and i've seen anti pgx people post videos where no matter what pgx does this person is going to badmouth them. for instance i've seen videos where PGX comes back a bit lower and the person says, see pgx cant grant they over graded then, in the same video, a book comes is graded higher and the person says the same thing. does that sense, either they over grad or under grade, it can't be just cause you hate them, especially if you're pretending to be impartial. this happens all the time with CBCS & CGC slabs, when sent in for re-grade, but people are more forgiving when it happens between these two companies. that's what i've seen, now i'm not saying these rumors aren't true but they are so muddled by people with such strong biases that it is difficult for me to take them seriously.

because you have had personal experiences, I choose to believe what your are saying. thanks for your input.

@GAC, now I'm really sorry.

I'll buy that, but speaking of personal experiences, there's a forum member that started a thread entitled "Non existent customer service and quality control now the norm!" that has apparently been a customer and supporter of CBCS for a couple of years, who has had it. As you can easily see, everyone has problems. But you are correct in that if people have personal experiences and been involved in PGX's alleged cheating ways then, it is what it is. But again, personally i've not had problems (fingers crossed) with them even though I have not used them for a couple of years because of the negs attached to their slabs.

There are pros and cons to each grading company. It’s the overall reputation that matters IMO. And public perception carries weight with the aftermarket.

You are way more right than wrong on this one!! Hence my trepidation to do business with PGX. I'd love it if there were more competition for our hearts, minds and wallets but what-ya-gonna-do?

From what I understand PGX has been caught with their hand in the cookie jar for self dealing (over-grading books for themselves and others).

The best you can do is look at the pictures and hope their is no restoration, missing coupons, etc.

You are really shooting in the dark with them.

I don't know if you know but there was this big hullabaloo regarding CGC & missing restoration, just as you describe with PGX. you can easily find CGC's sordid mess by googling CGC controversy. are there personal pgx stories someone can tell, not just opinions, news article or something? my experiences with them have been great, but as i mentioned, i don't use them for two reasons only, their reputation suppresses the value and prestige of my books and I genuinely enjoy these forums and the people so I want to support this company. I wish the former wasn't true because they have a great product, again, way better that CGC's.
