Wouldn't this be a strategy to pull key books out of the market? Someone sees that you are willing to pay $220,000 for a NM Action #1. They pull their VG copy out of their attic thinking they'll get that much for it. You offer them a fair but greatly reduced amount for a book that might've never reached the market otherwise? Metropolis used to run ads like this. Surely, you weren't expecting NM copies to be at the other end of the phone call?  |
