Cool books that hit my grading desk.........9890

@OGJackster I don't remember grading one in, at least, the last 10 years so I am not 100% sure. It's a B&W that had strange distrobution....

steve it seems common for the old vintage comics the kids back then wrote there names on the covers.

Very common.
My mother told me she wrote her name on all her comics, so that when she took them to school no one could steal her book because of her name. I am still, after all these years, looking for a book with her name. That would be so cool to find!

I have a copy of Superman 30 that has the name Kenneth Bergquist written in pencil across the top. Google turns up a few potential candidates (likely related), all senior military (assistant secretary of defense, major general etc).

I like that it is left on even if it did drop the grade a bit :-)

If anyone had a chance of coming across one, I am sure it would be you. You must have seen heaps of books over the years.

I've been looking for a copy of number three forever. The only way you could get one was to subscribe to STUNTMAN COMICS. As I had number one and two I spent months waiting for number three that never appeared. STILL LOOKING!

@sborock here is a triple cover you graded for me. I don't recall seeing too many triple cover GA, but I did see a five cover comic once years ago.

I once grade a John Wayne comic with 5 covers. Low grade, but it was very cool!

I've heard of books with as many as eight covers, but I've never actually seen one.

I only have one double cover in my collection I'm aware of. But it's an ASM 238 in 9.8, so I'm pretty proud of that one.

I have several double covers (one Batman, one Star Wars, and at least one other) and one triple cover. Naturally, the triple couldn't be something cool like Batman or Star Wars, but still...

Funny how the fluid is so toxic that it requires gloves and long sleeves when handling, but pouring it down the throat seems like a good idea 😂

Let's face it, in comic book world exposure to something generally considered lethal gives you at least a 50/50 shot to develop superpowers.
