Great run on that series.

Byrne on FF.
Simonson on Thor.
Claremont on X-Men and New Mutants.

I wish Marvel could recapture just a tenth of what it was back then.

Agreed!

80s Marvel had some amazing talent and stories.

I’d add the Stern/ Buscema Avengers run from that same general time period on there, too.

And I guess we have to mention Miller’s Daredevil, too!

Great run on that series.

Byrne on FF.
Simonson on Thor.
Claremont on X-Men and New Mutants.

I wish Marvel could recapture just a tenth of what it was back then.

Holy freshness Borockman! That is a clean looking cover on an obscure comic that is over a half century old.

@sborock love me some gold keys.when I was getting Dell file copies from the Dell warehouse sale. The seller had also a lot of gold key file copies I took all I could get, just the #1's though. I've only sent a few in so far but live them in these grades.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks a ~40 year old comic is not "vintage." (FYI, it is.)

You are correct! I should have said VERY vintage.

I had to look it up. Technically, all the comics from the 90's are vintage, too. Crazy, eh?

I would love to say that I submitted that but alas, my copy is a lowly cents copy. It gives me the warm and fuzzies to see high grade pence copies come out of the woodwork. Many of the ones I find are no better than kindling.

No, no, no, i would never want to see one of my comics in Steve Borock’s “Cool books” thread.

And, pleeeaase don’t throw me in the briar patch.

Those who don’t get that reference are very likely not age enhanced. 😉

WOW! How tough it was to sell those early comics - "Free Movies (NetFlix?) Cash Prizes" - to get the kid to part with that one thin dime from his allowance, lawn mowing, paper route. The hook? "See Inside" and the newsstand or drug store guy probably yelling to buy it or put it back. If only they knew then what they would become....20/20 hindsight
