Just got these today,

I know, not the best or highest graded but as I said before, they’re mine and that’s good enough.

Dropped off at San Diego Comic Con on the 20th arrived today 2 weeks and 3 days total! 17 days, should’ve been 16 but fedex couldn’t deliver yesterday (they suck).

I didn’t, I don’t think I would’ve seen them for 4 months. But maybe I should’ve pressed and cleaned X-men 101, notes say “creases & bends to cover some breaks color front cover
few tiny stains top front cover, soiling back cover”

San Diego Comic Con, cool but to be honest I prefer Wonder-con It's my favorite. I've seen your books, I think you won the lottery. Thanks though. I am happy to have them back in one piece and decent grades considering they were bargains about 4 years ago.

Nice Looking books! I love that Silver Surfer #4 Cover. Unfortunately I think it is out of my affordability in the higher grade (8.0) I would like to have.

I know what you mean, i couldn’t afford a higher grade of that book either but at the time it was one of my grails.

Very, very nice books! A few should have received check marks because they look better than the grades. Love the SS #4. Nuff said.

No cutouts no serious damage, I agree but i'm no expert. Maybe the rumors i've heard about CBCS being a tough grading company is true but since they are for me rather than to sell I'm ok with it.

I agree, the ss4 is a gorgeous book, a 4.0 seems like it should have gotten a higher grade

This is CGC's 5.5 grade reasoning,

FN-
5.5 A slightly above-average collectible with a major defect and some smaller defects, or a significant accumulation of small defects.

I would call a 7-8 inch crease on the back cover 1 major defect and the rest of the items minor defects (that's my interpretation anyway).

here is CBCS's notes on this book.

spine stress & wear breaks color
corner, edge wear & small creases front cover breaks color
7" & 8" diagonal creases back cover partially breaks color, ink stamp bottom back cover
slight soiling front cover & soiling back cover, small stain bottom left front cover

5.5 would've been great but Again, I'm no expert so I deffer to CBCS's expertise.

and here's CBCS's 5.5 grading standard
It seems my book could easily fall into this grade.

5.5 FINE–

This comic is definitely a read copy with handling wear, but can still be a very desirable copy.

This could have one major defect like a larger piece out of the cover, a long tear or a detached centerfold.
It has stress lines on the spine and creases from the opening and closing of the cover.
This could have a light reading or subscription crease or a rolled spine, but is not damaged enough to reduce eye appeal dramatically.
Some cover discoloration, fading in colors and soiling is allowed.
The cover and/or inside pages could have some tears and/or folds.
With the absence of many other defects, the cover can be detached from one staple, but cover cannot be completely detached from interior.
Books with slightly brittle pages cannot grade higher than 6.5 and generally are even lower in grade.
Pages and inside covers could be brownish but not brittle.
Depending on the look of the comic, very small amounts of tape could be acceptable in this grade.

I have said this many times.... they may not be the best or highest graded, but any grade is better than none. Nice books!
