I have a cgc account. I think maybe I’ve posted a few times, but never got anyon to respond to my question. I can’t seem to figure out their system, so I don’t even look for information there.

Here, I’m a daily reader and somewhat regular poster as I can easily navigate and tell what conversations are going on and quickly choose what interests me.

Took me a few days to get to the end of this thread and have one question, even though it seems to hav been dropped from he last few pages:

Has anyone paid the $5 and purchased the cgc graders notes for this book? Is everyone here so against paying for graders note they refuse to do so to settle th “is it the same book” argument?

I think it’s the same book, for many of the reasons stated prior. And I didn’t see anyone one pointing out cgc cases have a “tint” to them which would make the cbcs book appear to be of brighter inks.

300 left, ARGHH! CGC has mine right now. The chances that there are 299 currently ahead of mine, slim-to-none. Sucks.

It's clearly a "money-grab" but that doesn't mean i'm not interested.

Money grab maybe. It's a big copper key and collectors and sellers are going to submit copies whether cgc offered the unique label or not.
In my opinion the money grab will be the lucky submitter. With so many graded their unique label copy may fetched drunk money regardless of grade 😀🤪

You are soooooo, right!

I think the money-grab is all the people that are sitting on them and not planning on sending them in until they saw this promotion now everyone that owns one will submit in hopes of getting the golden ticket.

Maybe the informative threads are in the ether as they would be so far beyond any reasonably fathomable conception of human thought that they would shatter our minds if we were exposed to them.

The structure of this board does not facilitate highly informative threads of discussion because topics drop out of view too quickly and get locked.

What you don't get here is the hostile ambush, memes generated ad nauseam on the fly for the sake of intimidation, and a clique of collectors who only seek to promote their own agenda at the expense of genuine comic fans who want to discuss comics candidly.

The CGC forum has some great informative threads. Unfortunately, you have to wade through thousands of posts of garbage to find one of those threads. It's better to just search for the info on Google and let it lead you to one of those informative threads. I found no benefit to actually participating in the discussion there.

How about a fun and nearly pointless argument?

We all know eBay doesn't allow "not CBCS" and the like in auctions. In other words, you aren't allowed to list things your item is not, just to increase views and bids.

But what about a 9.9 or 10.0 comic? Can you - should you be able to - put "10.0 9.9 9.8" in the title of a Gem Mint item?

On the surface it seems like this is the same thing, because the comic isn't a 9.8. On the other hand, it is BETTER than a 9.8, and therefore AT LEAST a 9.8. Right?

Which side do you come down on? (Either what eBay DOES allow, or what they SHOULD allow.)
