LOL
I hope for their sake they don't apply those mad research skills to all aspects of the hobby.
I've often wondered what the ratio of non-forum-participating customers are to those who do post.

Here too. The forums must make up a tiny portion of their clientele.

Gimmick money grab for the seller!!! Whoever that person is will try to monopolize on that even though it has NOTHING to do with the actual comic.

I can't help but wonder how many of those copies are CPR'ed. I'd imagine it is quite a few given the popularity of the book. Don't get me wrong, it is still a benchmark number!!! But I'd still like to know an actual count. Of course, that is impossible, so they go with what they got. As a side note to that, I wonder how many of those passed through Borock's hands!!

learning to be concise with a message is one of the best things a person can do to lift their ability to communicate effectively.

someone who can't communicate effectively should not expect others to read through their walls of text to extract the 1 or 2 key points that might be relevant to a discussion

I'm curious how many listings for this one of a kind will be on eBay.

@poka I appreciate the census info, but I was just wondering how many comics are on that list 2-3 times. I'm thinking there has to be a few between the 9.0 and 9.6 grades that were cracked open. pressed and regraded in hopes of a grade bump. I realize there is no way to tell with certainty, but it was the first thought that popped into my head when I saw that number.

Yeah I am sure there will be a few, but it will still be the #20000 graded - just that some may have been graded more than once

I restrict most of my activity to GA, but still post over there often and have even been known to venture into the hazardous territory of General on occasion. Browsing the CGC's GA Forum allows me to converse regularly with friends in the collecting community who've never gotten a taste for this forum's platform. Also, I've had good fortune acquiring some sweet books from other collectors/dealers in CGC-land.

The CGC is well aware I'm not a loyalist to their grading service. I've made it clear that I have real concerns about their current holders and labels. In fact, my caffeine fueled "dissertation" yesterday on their service's persistent inability to address the NR cluster-fiasco has garnered more positive feedback than expected.

Probably more than a few, and without owner confirmation to remove the earlier grade from the census the actual numbers will never be known.

This just popped into my head and I haven't thought it through but, I wonder if at some point a microscopic UV code can be placed on books for security tracking if stolen and or re-slabbed for census tracking??? Hummmmmmm.

This is not a new idea. The tagging concept was discussed within the community around the time encapsulation was introduced. I seem to recall the reaction being overwhelmingly negative as most folks didn't trust anything being added to their comics that might prove destructive.

I have a cgc account. I think maybe I’ve posted a few times, but never got anyon to respond to my question. I can’t seem to figure out their system, so I don’t even look for information there.

Here, I’m a daily reader and somewhat regular poster as I can easily navigate and tell what conversations are going on and quickly choose what interests me.

Took me a few days to get to the end of this thread and have one question, even though it seems to hav been dropped from he last few pages:

Has anyone paid the $5 and purchased the cgc graders notes for this book? Is everyone here so against paying for graders note they refuse to do so to settle th “is it the same book” argument?

I think it’s the same book, for many of the reasons stated prior. And I didn’t see anyone one pointing out cgc cases have a “tint” to them which would make the cbcs book appear to be of brighter inks.
