Saving that nickel on this one was a bad call, my friend.

Given the choice, I'd much prefer that 6.0 Spirit you posted earlier.

@CatCovers Saving a nickle was a big deal back then and it
took me over 30 years to realize that DETECTIVE #168 was a
popular book.
As far as SPIRIT #22...I agree with you!
Thanks.

Are you sure this would be your most valuable? I’ve seen you post some pretty impressive golden age books.

May not be the most valuable but it will be interesting to see
what it may be worth to "someone".

@martymann - That Spirit is my favorite, but your Shock Suspenstories #6 is a close second. Please post it again here.

@Karlhungus Hey, don't feel bad. Those first three ASMs you posted represent aggravating gaps in my collection.

Well, having just purchased this at SDCC guess I should add another to the key book list.

Again, not the most expensive, but it’s certainly getting there!

For whatever reason, the Photobucket image taken with my iPad isn’t being being uploaded properly to the CBCS site. This is probably just a glitch at this end that’ll require a bit of troubleshooting and an edit or it may be something about the image that’s causing the issue.

If I can’t get it fixed just click IMAGE COULD NOT BE LOCATED to ummm, locate it. Hey, what’s not to like about this book.

Photobucket is garbage now. You need to find a new image host.

Back before the internet made finding books easier, this was one of my grails.

This is a book I traded for when I was younger. I really haven't thought much about this book, but apparently it's a pretty big B&W comic key.

This book was a big key when Grant Morrison took over the character in the late 80's. This was a grail for me for quite some time as it took forever to find a copy.

One of my main clients used to sell at our local flea market. He sold me this book for $75. I had it figured for a 3.0, came back from CGC a 3.5.

There is a run of books that will cost you some sleep trying to finish...from four color in 1954 to gold key to Whitman across 3o years. Most people don't realize all those early covers were hand painted, not drawn and inked like most comics

Let’s see if this scanned Photobucket library image comes up. It fits in this category...

Broken link now fixed, (fingers crossed).

My Turok collection can be seen on Ditch's site - http://the-comic-book-forum.boards.net/thread/993/fiddys-journal?page=8

It was a fun run to build. I finished the run (Four Color 596 - Turok 130), but I'm still missing one SF price variant, a yellow logo Whitman 130, and a few other Whitman variants.

Thank you. It was a fun collection to build. The early 15 price editions are tough to find. I'd imagine I'm going to be searching for that #8 for quite some time.

P.S. how the heck are you're books in such great shape? there were no bag and boards at some point in your collecting life?
