Ed's Bronze Age Golden Nuggets For Sale - Some Sets/Runs9534

Although I am heading to Canada for a short vacation this weekend, I figured I would post a few comics before I left. The following comics were purchased new by me back in the day. They have been carefully stored away as part of my collection since then. Obviously the older they are, the younger I was when they were purchased. So in general, "newer" books tend to be in the best condition. Some of the books might have arrival dates written or stamped on the cover (see scans) as that was a pretty common practice at several newsstands that I visited.

If you don't know me, I am a collector and not a dealer. I do not sell on eBay or at conventions. I have sold or traded with several dozen people on these forums over the last four-plus years, so feel free to ask for references. I am still collecting, but I am trying to focus on just a few specific titles now, like X-Men, ASM, and SA Adventure Comics (and various shiny things, lol). If you see something you want and think we could work out a trade, send me a PM.

I accept payment by PayPal in accordance with the selling guidelines established by CBCS. Any items you receive that do not match the pictures or descriptions provided for that item(s) may be returned for a refund within 7 days (return shipping at your cost). I ship by USPS Priority Mail. The prices quoted DO NOT INCLUDE SHIPPING. There will be an $8 shipping charge for addresses within the US (if you purchase multiple sets I will see what I can do to combine shipping costs). If you are in Canada or overseas, I will have to calculate the costs to ship to those locations and then inform you of the additional charges.

First person to post "I'll take it" owns it. I will PM you later and get your shipping information.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend,

Ed

I am going to post 5 items tonight. I will try to add some more sets/runs later next week. (PS - I try to grade conservatively, but fairly.)

First set is Blitzkrieg #1-5, published by DC in 1976. I would say these comics would average VFN/NM or better, except for #3 that is closer to FN. Some great and intense Joe Kubert covers. I am asking $60 for the set.

The second set is Ragman, also published by DC in 1976. I would say #1 and #2 are VFN/NM or better, with #3 about FN/VFN, and #4 VFN. Some more great covers by Joe Kubert. i am asking $35 for the set.

The third set is Prez, published by DC in 1973. I would say that #1, 3, and 4 are VFN, but #2 has about a 3/4 inch tear at the top of the back cover (scan included), so I am calling it around FN-. I am asking $30 for this obscure comic, that was brought back to life by DC/Vertigo in 1995.

The fourth set is the Stalker, published by DC in 1975. I would say #1, 3, and 4 are VFN or better, with #2 closer to FN/VFN. Some amazing art by Wally Wood and Steve Ditko. I am only asking $25 for the set.

My last one tonight, the first four issues of Welcome Back, Kotter. I would say all issues are VFN/NM or better. If you remember the Sweathogs, you need to own these comics. I am asking $45 for this run.

Dear Mr. Kotter,

Please excuse Juan for being absent from school yesterday. He had the flu.

Signed,
Epstein's mother

😆 I always loved that bit.

@esaravo Issues 1 and 5 of Blitzkrieg suggest Hugo is a bit of a trigger-happy nutjob.

Both packages have been mailed and tracking information has been forwarded. Thank you both for your purchases and your patience.

Three sets/runs are still available: the Stalker, Ragman, and Welcome Back Kotter. I will try to add a few more tonight or tomorrow.

Steel the Indestructible Man #1 and 2 (DC - 1978)

I would say that #1 is 8.5 or better and #2 is 9.2 or better. Mycomicshop.com has a CGC 9.2 copy of #1 for $57.85 and a 7.0 raw copy for $14.99. I am asking $20 for the pair, not including shipping.

West Coast Avengers #1-4 (Marvel Limited Series 1984)

This is a beautiful set that in my opinion is 9.4 to 9.6 or better. Gocollect.com lists the FMV for a #1 in 9.6 at $48. I am asking $35 for the set, not including shipping.

Kobra #1-7 (DC 1976)

This is the complete run. Average condition in my opinion is 8.5 or better, with #4 being closer to 9.2. I am asking $30 for the set, not including shipping.

Starfire #1-7 (DC 1976)

This sexy sci-fi title by DC was controversial when it was released in 1976 because issue #1 lacks the Comic Code Authority stamp of approval. However, it is now believed that it was approved, and that stamp was simply left off by accident. The average condition for the majority of these comics is 9.0/9.2 in my opinion, with #2 and #6 being closer to 8.5 (#6 has a 1/4” tear on side of back cover). I am asking $35 for the set, not including shipping.

Beauty and the Beast #1-4 (Marvel Limited Series 1984/5)

This is another really nice set. In my opinion issues #1, 3, and 4 are 9.4 to 9.6, but #2 has a very faint (non-color breaking) light bend along the right side of the front cover, so I would call it about a 9.0. I am only asking $15 for the set, not including shipping.

SOLD!

Punisher #1-5 (Marvel Limited Series 1986)

Let’s see if anyone is paying attention. Another beautiful and highly desirable set with #1 about a 9.0 due to a fixable impact dent in upper corner (spine side) on back cover (see photos), the rest are about 9.4 to 9.6 condition (IMO), except #5 which is about a 9.0/9.2 due to some light non-color breaking creases along the spine on the front cover. All have white pages. I am asking $175 for the set, not including shipping.
