This is one of my long-time favorites, Incredible Hulk #153. Severin's inks on Trimpe's pencils really brought the art to another level.

Here's one that I have, and a little story to accompany it....

While I was growing up, my parents and I were always huge fans of the classic horror flicks (Warewolf, Dracula, Frankenstein, Mummy, etc), but my Mother's all-time favorite was "The Invisible Man".

When issue #2 of Supernatural Thrillers hit the stands in 1972/73 I purchased it for two reasons - (1) I began collecting the title (2) I knew my Mother would love the cover. After reading the book, I didn't show her the cover at the time,... I had something special in mind. I purchased about a 32x32 inch canvas board, sketched the comic's cover (framed area wo/word balloons of course) onto it, painted it in acrylics, had it framed and gave it to my Mother on her Birthday - then I showed her the comic cover. She loved it so much she hung in the living room. It looked so out of place among the other pictures on the wall but it was cool.

And that's where it remained for about 12 years until my parent's house was burglarized - a lot of expensive stuff was taken. About 8 months later we went to court and identified the majority of the items stolen, but the painting was not there. Why would these idiots leave behind the TV and a killer bad-azz stereo system and take a painting of this comic book cover off the wall instead?

Because it was the coolest thing in the house!

Great story to go with your book.

This Forum's format makes if really tough to find what books I've posted already, and I'll bet even Blowie would find the search function here useless. I don't think I posted this Daredevil #91.
