What comics do you NEVER pass on in the $1 bin?9308

Collector jdangerc private msg quote post Address this user
We all have those issues that we always buy from the $1 bin. I always pick up Death of Superman, Knightfall and Maximum Carnage books no matter how many I have at home. What are some books you never pass on in the $1 bin?

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user

Most anything worth $20 or more if I like it. Sometimes dealers don't know the value of the things they price a dollar. I once bought a comic for $1 that regularly sells for $75 on eBay.

Hellboy books. I have seen several copies of Seed of Destruction 1 in $5 bins before. At one time I had 4 of them, and two completed sets. I now have 1 graded 9.8, and a raw 1 and one complete set.

I usually don’t pass on Dells, Gold Keys or Harveys that I don’t already have. I also like ‘80s indie comics. I will buy pretty much anything that looks interesting that I haven’t already read. Honestly the bulk of my collection is out of the discount boxes at shows. I am definitely a reader first and a collector second. Back in the ‘80s they were in quarter boxes and just about everything that today’s collectors call “Bronze Age keys”
were readily available for 25 cents. In the ‘90s, 50 cent boxes became more prevalent and nowadays, while you can still find 50 cent boxes here and there, dollar boxes are pretty much the standard. To me, digging through the boxes is one of the most rewarding aspects of the hobby!

I tend to salvage Ka-Zar comics from the bargain bins. Needless to say, I've got multiple copies of most issues.

Isn’t funny how you can keep
finding those in the dollar bins. 😆

Any high grade Spawn main series.

Rocketeer is what got me back into comics. I love the character and believe in my heart that one day his value will be recognized.

Until then...I will just be forced to enjoy Betty Page.

I bought all of the early Rocketeer stuff when if came out and that was when I started buying Mylites. The books are just like brand new.

Man, I never go through the dollar boxes. I know I should, but I just don’t do it. I just assume that at shops & at Cons that they’ve already been cherry picked to death.

I did find this for $1 at the flea market though.
