This has been brought up in different forms in the past and I'm still hoping CBCS will announce that they are going to do this. It's also a fun opportunity for CBCS fans to show off their collections in an additional forum. CBCS is also not doing very well at giving back to the customers to show them appreciation when we choose them to grade our books. As an example, how many people took the time to fill out their survey and never received their discount coupon? The CGC Registry awards are offering a $500 grading credit for the top winning sets. For most of us, a top registry set isn't in our sights but it's still nice that CGC is showcasing these sets and acknowledging them by offering up a little something to the customers. I hope that CBCS will take note and kick down a little something to faithful customers in the future. I'm thinking that this could also help boost support and business for them. Thoughts?

It's a 5 year old company still recovering from negative impacts of being bought-out and forced moved nearly their entire operation from FL to TX. A lot of stuff would be great if they would do it, and this could be low-hanging fruit. But I point you to the recent response to them grading metal and glass comics. The overwhelming response was "waaa, we want magazine size". It actually made people mad that they expanded their offerings, but didn't expand to the thing "people wanted most". So, maybe they're working on this. Maybe they aren't, once they get their ducks in a row on their main purpose; grading comics, maybe we'll get all sorts of service expansions. If I were them, I'd not say anything about it until it was 100% up and running and ready to go. I'd be preparing for whatever I did to be met with largely negative comments because of the general mentality of the clientele. As you said, they didn't seem to deliver on the $25.00 cards due to some sort of hiccup. It seems at least partially related to e-mail filtering issues, and it gets brought-up non-stop. They may have even lost people over it. They had a 10-day TAT promo, people got on freaking out about it potentially holding up earlier submissions. What's their motivation for continuing to try and create products for a "fan base" that does nothing but crap on everything they try? |

Any customer appreciation will gladly be accepted on this end since this guy is on a hobby budget. I just really want CBCS to continue to improve as a company and with their services that they provide to the collectors, while keeping the appealing lower prices than their competitor.

It seems to me CBCS offers something major no other company does and its incredibly work intensive and requires an exactitude even beyond comic book grading-signature verification. I'd be patient with them rolling out any new services or offers and hope they do it in a manner that manages to allow them to keep the quality of their core offerings to the highest quality. I think a slowness in rolling out anything new is a good sign this is what they are doing. It seems to me that's the best thing this company could possibly offer its customers, reliability in grading and verification. As most of us are aware, very few companies offering grading services actually provide that.

I got noting so I will just leave the requisite #SOON and move on. |

A registry would be awesome - would allow us to finally get some idea of total #'s graded (CGC and CBCS combined) - or at least as close a picture as the accuracy of the registries.

@KatKomics Agreed! But combined, doubtful. I do foresee a new site if CBCS started a registry though. Like the new search site for sales information including all of the major auction sites clickable text I could see a third party doing the same thing to gather information from both CBCS and CGC so just one search engine could be used when searching for registry information... someone wake me when this happens ![]() |
