Come on, guys. He spent years playing a vampire so he clearly knows the ways of the bat.

Great! We get the Batman who sparkles, instead of the Batman who laughs.

It was a one trick pony show but always hilarious. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
I will still give this movie a chance but my excitement and expectations have been greatly diminished.

Long ago I quit second guessing Hollywood on the casting of superhero films. Fans thought Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn't possibly act - and he did just fine. We thought Michael "Mr. Mom" Keaton would be the sissiest Batman ever. He did fine.

Give Pattinson a shave, haircut & an expensive suit and he'll probably make a fine "playboy" Bruce Wayne. The suit, the fight choreographers, the stuntmen and the special effects will take care of the Batman part.

He might need some nandrolone to help his physique too.

Some of those aren't really fair to the actors. Batman & Robin was a genuinely horrible movie. Actors can only do so much. So too all the FF movies, with the last one not even worth calling a movie. Cage was OK in the first Ghost Rider movie, but I'm not sure Jesus could save the second.

The actors memorize the lines and do the stuff in the script. If the lines are dumb and the script ridiculous.....

I actually LIKED the Daredevil movie. Minority opinion, but I'm also not alone.

Keaton was hardly buff. The suit will take care of the Batman physique thing

I'm with @IronMan. No one will know until the movie comes out. Chris Evans couldn't hold down a big movie until Captain America, RDJ was washed up until Iron Man, etc. Pattinson hasn't made any big movies since the Twilight franchise but he's made a ton of small movies and critics have been saying a lot of good things about him.

...I could see him as Robin (or Nightwing)

Seriously I'm not sure he has the grit for the role, I mean...I'm not sure if he's done this type of role before.

That being said, the dude probably has some serious thick skin after the Twilight franchise, so I'm sure he'll handle the criticism well (and there will be criticism from some people as with every other Batman that has come along).

I wonder if this is a lead in to maybe a "future Batman franchise"?

Come on guys, before he was a sparkly vampire, he was a wizard, so he's going to be perfect for playing a gritty crime fighter.

Can Disney just please buy out Warner Brothers? At least they would have some respect for the material. The rich history of stories and character development that is available and WB just continues to squander it....
