What's wrong with my auctions?896

Collector VaComicsGuy private msg quote post Address this user
I think Curmudgeon gave a decent enough description of the book. There was enough info. to make a decision. Other than 2 books vs 1 book, which has already been discussed, the biggest difference i noticed was feedback. Both had 100% but the other seller has 35312 K transactions with 100% to 297. That's a big enough #, that I might pay a little extra to buy from him.

Yeah, newsstand is less common (not rare) in ultra high grade(9.6 & up), but 9.4 & down is as common as Bahia grass in Texas.

I tend to go the other way.
I feel like if it's coming from someones personal collection, then maybe they have a love for the comic as I do and will see to it's care as they send it to a new home.

@The_Curmudgeon Have you tried selling in the Facebook groups? I just sold a book today in one. There are some great selling groups on there plus you don't lose 10% eBay fees only 2.9% PayPal fee.

What and where are these FaceBook groups? I am increasingly dissatisfied with eBay and selling on the other auction sites does not work for me at the moment.

I thought that was just a picture sharing/social media thing.

I hate fb, I don't even go to mine anymore.
All those damned emails about so-and-so updated their status are pissing me off.
I don't give a squirrels nut who updated their F'N status!

@The_Curmudgeon Haha! I feel your pain. I think you can fix your account so that you don't get those emails, plus you can unfollow any annoying "friends." I never get Facebook emails anymore, and I've got almost everyone squelched except my closest friends/family.

I mainly just use Facebook for comics, buying-selling-trading, plus comic book and related news. I left everything else in the dust.

I turned off all email notifications, and I still get them every day.

Maybe I could create a second one just for comics?
Will they let you do that?

That's weird. I never get emails from Facebook. But yeah, you could create a new account just for comic related use. Lots of people do that. You'll have to have a different email address to sign onto Facebook with.

Hey thanks. I never knew FB had this kind of stuff. Guess I'll join these groups. I am on FB, but don't do much with it. A message to and from family now and then, and some political rants. I don't have a smart phone and have never sent a text in my life. Facebook and email is how I "text". (I am the last of the dinosaurs)

Are there any Feedback Threads in the FB Group?

Collector Despain private msg quote post Address this user
@JazzyJeffie Some of the groups do have feedback threads, I can't remember which ones at the moment. I always do my transactions via PayPal, and I always include tracking as a seller.

Thanks @Despain . Which FB group does have them? I don't want to join all of them.

The Action figure hobby groups I've joined have feedback threads, so it's great to invest time in shopping there, as well as selling.

@JazzyJeffie I belong to quite a few, so I don't remember which ones have a list and which ones don.t, but they all have good admins who oversee things.

I know this one has a list: clickable text

You don't want my luck, at 13.98 somebody got a good deal on that book. And it was up there for 3 months!
I'm sure I'll pay dearly for this tiny bonus.

I bought a meat grinder on amazon for $60 and it's changed my life. kaptainmyke private msg quote post Address this user
so i got wrapped up in this weird gambling thing what i thought was a TMNT action figure trading facebook group. instead this is what I witnessed: people buy "spots" for $5 or $20 each for a $500 book or toy on a wheel and then the seller goes to some site like random.org and spins the wheel for the winner. They use dice, random numbers games, wheel spin flash widgets, etc. Seems illegal to me.

I think it may have been all the traffic you guys gave it.
It went from 16 views to 107 in like two days!
Maybe high traffic items get moved up in the "best match" search cue?
Thanks guys!
