CBCS work has always been excellent but when I dropped my books off 6 months ago at Wizard World I was told that they could beat the time of the other company. The other's companies books were returned 2 months ago (including pressing). I would still leave them at CBCS is they could give me a concrete delivery date, but they can't.

Do you guys remember way back in 2014 when CBCS would offer discounts when there books were late. I guess those days are over. In the meantime at C2E2 in Chicago last week CBCS was offering a 2 week turnaround.

TAT for non-press comics is not an issue which is why they can make TAT guarantees like the several that have been made since last summer. The problem is the Press deluge they received from the Spring/Summer cons. I know for a fact that they took in over 2,000 press books at SDCC alone July 18-21! And, they have cycled through a good portion of those and are also mixing in August press submissions along with them.

I have been extremely please with every comic that @SteveRicketts & CBCS has pressed for me. I would recommend you keep your submission in place. Just saying.

Cheers.

That is an issue that would understandably would add to your frustration and decision. Honestly, I thought I might have all mine back before year end and was hoping to receive by Thanksgiving, but the parties that I was dealing with never gave me such assurances that was completely my guestimate and hope.

But, the TAT on my 1,300 grade only submissions from SDCC ended up being 1 1/2 to 5 weeks, to which I was amazed. More importantly, they were accurate grades.

Just a thought - would it not make sense to have a trusted external supplier do the pressing just to catch up on the 7 - 8 month backlog?

The normal TAT for non-pressed is seriously incredible (like only 4 weeks now). That's been supremely cleaned up.

Isn't it time to clean up the pressed books now also via another method than just the CBCS presser(s) doing it?

@Nuffsaid111 Borock mentioned in that interview this week that steps were being taken to improve the pressing TAT. Stay tuned.

And, things like that do happen. Hopefully, @BSeldin305 they will find your comic soon.

I received a nice call from Steve Borock Friday night.  He is confident they will track down the book and has already begun to make things right.

We'll hope for the best.

My books were given to both companies at Chicago Wizard World in August 2019. Pressed and graded books were returned by the other company in January. The books given to CBCS are still waiting to be pressed. My credit card was charged over 5 months ago for the pressing and grading by CBCS. I have asked for my books and my money back.

@josfriend I understand wanting a refund.

Myself no press and I dropped them off at the grading expo.
I'd thought after spending that kind of money they'd be quick on the turn around for me.

@southerncross pm sent

Edit: all regular submissions from the CBCS Expo should be returned by now. If you attended the expo, submitted for regular grading, and have not seen you books back yet, contact CBCS.

Just wanted to point out the disparity between services: dropped off two books at C2E2 on April 1st with the two week TAT guarantee - I got notice that they're shipping my books today! Yay! Great job doing even better than what you promised, CBCS! BUT - my order that's been sitting with press screening since September of 2019 is still in "Processing"....BOO. Press and Press Screening = ETERNITY.

They took in an unexpectedly huge amount of comics for Press at SDCC last July. One submitter alone handed off over 1,800 comics for press that they are still working through. I have a feeling they will get caught up with press soon.

Our current turn around times for regular submissions is 5 weeks (or less) and has been this way for a while now. As for pressing, we do have plans in place to help this area improve greatly, but it will take time.

Please keep in mind that any issues freeze your TAT's and well delay the submission. For example, if we need to speak to a customer about a signature we found on the first page, that is not listed in the paperwork, this will slow down the turn around for however long it takes to speak with the customer and resolve the issue.

Fast pressing works for moderns at the very least, I submitted at the end of December and got my books back by the end of February it was only 5 books though...so if you are trying to do a quick flip fast press is a must

@Qillabee If they emailed you that, it should be pretty reliable. When did they get your books and what are they doing (pressing, verifying signatures, just grading)?

@Qillabee so they got your books down to Texas probably a week ago or less? Witnessed signatures shouldn't add any time as long as your paperwork was on point, so you should be looking at the standard ~5 week TAT right now.

@Topher pressing is known to be pretty behind, and then it would have to be graded afterward. Plus you have the Canada shipping process to contend with, right?

@xkonk My submission was made in person in a convention, late in August. The books arrived at their facility September 11th. It's been 26 weeks.

I wonder who in the forum has been waiting the longest.

I'm waiting to hear how exactly they will be addressing/resolving the pressing issue. They should stop taking pressing books for a while to catch up.
