Marvel's MCU Phase 4?8911

COLLECTOR JLS_Comics private msg quote post Address this user
So this thread might contain spoilers as to what's happened in recent MCU films ... so fair warning ... We know that Spider-man: Far From Home will be the last movie of Phase 3, taking place literally minutes after the events of Avengers 4. So what's after that?

Nothing is confirmed yet but we have release dates for 3 of the 5 years of the next phase and some confirmations on directors but thats kinda it. What do you predict fills up these time slots?

Here are my choices and the reasons why! If you've got ten minutes this weekend, give it a listen and tell me if I'm right or wrong

Talks of a black widow prequel, guardians of the galaxy 3, the eternal so far. I would imagine a new captain america. Possibly any movie franchise Disney aquired by Fox.

Great video. Yep, all those titles sound right from what I have also researched and guessed. Let's just hope they don't make another Captain America series with Falcon as the Cap... And please, no more Captain Marvel....

If Disney/Marvel was smart, they would make a movie or a series (stand alone or intertwined) about one of the greatest comic book stories ever told... Miracleman. Why would Marvel go through all that legal battles in court with Neil Gaimen vs Todd McFarland if they aren't ever going to use it?

If any of you guys have ever read it, you know exactly what I'm talking about. For those of you that haven't, your totally missing out on one of the best stores from Alan Moore (Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Swamp Thing) - later the series was taken over by Neil Gaimen) and art by John Totleben (Swamp Thing, 1963) the comic world has ever known.

I hope they make two or three more Captain Marvel movies just so Gana has something to keep complaining about. I worry what he'll have to talk about otherwise.

Captain Marvel and Black Panther will definitely at a minimum get a sequel. After those two and the announced Black Widow, GotG 3, Eternals, and Shang Chi movies it is hard to determine the thread Phase 4 is trying to weave.

I might take a break until they get off their butts and introduce the x-men. Only characters I like that are left are Thor and the Guardians. I take that back, very interested in Shang Chi. They better go full out super kung fu action in that movie. Don't sign a dude that can't fight. We don't need another Iron Fist debacle.

I had no idea a Shang Chi movie was in the works. Marvel, please do it justice! Also, it would be awesome to see the supporting cast from the '70s comic series,.. Fu Manchu, Fah Lo Suee (daughter of Fu), Sir Denis Nayland Smith, Black Jack Tarr, Clive Reston, and Leiko Wu (ooh la la).

Haven't heard that. I thought that was started because everyone assumed Kate Bishop was going to be in Endgame.

I'm worried that's it's coming in phase 4.

My theory has been that as they run out of 60's, 70's, and 80's plots to developed, the well of interesting material will start running dry. How do you base a movie on material that was written in a decompressed form?

When I walked out of the Spawn movie, I was amazed that I learned more about the character in a two hour movie than I had in 2 years worth of the published comics.

Saw an article about Master of Kung Fu's villain being considered ethnically offensive to Asian cultures. With the rest of the world being a huge source of income, offending people in the area of the world with the heaviest population density might not be a wise move. Even if they clean up and white wash the offensive content, they can't undo what is already published.

I would like to see a Defenders movie followed by a clash between the Avengers and the Defenders like the 70's crossover.

I'd like to see a Rama-Tut/Kang/Immortus storyline with FF & the Avengers.

I'd like to see a Silver Surfer/Galactus story done correctly.

I'd like to see the Vision used well.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Nova movie.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ka-Zar meeting Man-Thing as he did in an Astonishing Tales issue I read as a kid.

A true and proper FF trilogy featuring Galactus and Silver Surfer would be a dream...taken right out of FF 48 to 50.

They've said that the shows on Disney+ will interact heavily with the movies, as opposed to SHIELD and the Netflix shows. Vision will show up there, as will Kate Bishop, and Falcon presumably as Cap. You could have easily guessed they all could have been (and still might be) in movies instead of TV. So until they start spelling things out, it's hard to guess what might be where.

I'd also like Marvel to attempt a feature film on the Inhumans. I think the story has a ton of potential if done properly.

That's partially why Young Avengers #1 has been on a steady increase in price...I mean Kate Bishop spec probably had something to do with it, but a full film appears to be in development.

I guess the key word there is "Marvel" because there was a feature film shown in IMAX and it was horrible. Marvel had announced a movie and then it ended up being on TV. When a character's power is long flowing hair that can pick objects up and she's given a haircut, that really defeats the purpose of having a superhero.

This is the first I've heard of anything Young Avengers relate...and OH MY GOD!!!! I have 1,2,3, 6 and 8!!!

Looks like 1 and 6 are the winners -guess I should grade these now so they are ready for future sale???

Odd...I usually follow first 10 issues of a title if I'm going to follow it to see if I will continue...this one must not have held my attention, I didn't even try and fill in 4,5 or 7!!

Yeah...kinda krept up there #1 is leading the pack with a whack of 1st appearances including Bishop...#6 is first Cassie Lang as Stature (spec was her being introduced in Ant Man for this project)...12 is first time Kate is called Hawkeye.

I agree, Marvel's bomb of a TV show was disheartening. With Disney having the Fantastic Four back and the Kree already being introduced in the MCU, an Inhumans movie may not be a bad play. However, I feel we will see Moon Knight before we see the Inhumans again.

I'm interested to see what they do with Shang Chi. It has potential to be a huge movie. Asians are often underepresented in American films and when they finally are...the movies are huge. Done appropriately they probably have another Black Panther level flick. The problem is all the stereotypes and fu man chu being original villain.
Aside from that, I'm excited for guardians and strange 2

Could care less about eternals...but I must confess I did spec on that one

So far Marvel has tentatively confirmed these six...
Spider man Far from home...
Black widow Blue Bayou
Black panther 2
Doctor strange 2
Eternals
Shang Chi

The widow and eternals movies interest me most...but I am rather sad that so far New mutants hasn't made it back on the table. Apparently it did not test well as scary enough which was apparently the goal...for me it looked good from the trailers released.
