I disagree 100%.[/qubote]this is easily disproven If you like a movie you may go back and see it again or if not you won't that I s a direct link between sales and how much people like a movie...consider people that went to see the original star wars multiple times

Marvel has made 22 films over 11 years with each movie making more and more. Critics are singing its high praise, record after record is being shattered...both times I've seen it the audiences are cheering out loud throughout the film and giving it a standing ovation at the end and you sincerely question its popularity?

maybe you didnt like it but I can bet every posession I own that you are absolutely in the minority in that feeling...and a really really low (less than 5%) minority I'd bet.

Same goes for the actors, a sudden switch of Robert Downy Jr. would cause this same issue.

I am more likely to see the new movies based on those two, interestingly. So I guess I am kinda the opposite, my reviews increased. I like strong female characters, and I'm a huge fan of Taika Waititi.
He and the two directors of Captain Marvel were dedicated to strong female characters without over sexualizing them.

Honestly the character Topaz in Thor: Ragnarok was a HUGE win, Hollywood always seems to depict stout women as either comedic relief or lesbians. She had some dry humor, but its different than the intentional slap-sticky type of stuff we see with people like Amy Schumer, Melissa McCarthy, etc.

I was moderately entertained, but I am more likely to skip future Marvel movies.

Even though we don't have an exact agreement on this for the Marvel movies...
I feel this same way about the new Star Wars movies. As someone who LOATHED the Fly episode in Breaking Bad, Rian Johnson was clearly not a good choice for Star Wars. How the F did this terrible director become the totalitarian of Star Wars future?!
Lawrence Kasdan is the screenwriter behind any decent Star Wars film, him missing in The Last Jedi was another fail.

So don't take me the wrong way in our disagreements on Marvel movies, because I'm you when it comes to Star Wars. haha!

I liked the Original Trilogy #1 and #2 Solo and #3 Force Awakens(in that order).
Everything else to me wasn't worth re-watching.

I'm definitely not seeing any new Star Wars movies. That bridge is burnt in two.
I think Marvel has made some great movies. I watched the first Iron Man movie again on cable and was surprised how entertaining it was. Downey Jr. is not Tony Stark, but he found a balance that worked and entertained the masses. I like all of Antman's appearances.

I have no problem with strong female characters. The female Captain Marvel replaced a male Captain Marvel that was better. I have a problem with that. My problem with the Captain Marvel movie is that it was boring.

My problem with Endgame is that it got boring up until the third act and then it only delivered a third of the fun it could have delivered.

I didn't like anything about Thor Ragnarok and Hulk was always my favorite Marvel character. I wished I had not wasted my time seeing it.

I wasn't terribly excited about GotG2, but it was acceptable.

Black Panther was great. There were a lot of strong female characters in that.

Eternal could be interesting.

As it stands right now, I don't want to see a Black Widow movie. I'm tired of the character.

The Thanos copter did get an homage when Thanos was blocking the combo lightning shot from Thor and Iron Man. He was spinning his sword around like the Thanos copter blades! That's the first thing I thought when I seen that sequence.

Saw it last night with my son (had to go because his classmates were giving away plot points!!)
We both thought it was great - didn't seem like it was 3hrs long.
Definitely sets up a few more movies. I thought they did a good job of rolling in all the different franchises and characters.

Looking forward to see where they go next - hope I have some of the books already so it won't cost me any $$$

Finally saw it yesterday after putting myself under a media blackout for the last week or so.

Enjoyed it quite a bit, though I had some issues, most of which have already been mentioned.

One thing that annoys me (it did in IW too, but they doubled down in Endgame) is the whole business with snapping the fingers being a necessity instead of simply a figure of speech. Thanos can't wipe out half the universe by simply willing it? He has to snap his fingers? Imagine if he were some species without thumbs - go to all this trouble to get the stones then he can't use them. I'm imagining him now having collected them all, battled the Avengers, then staring helplessly down at his thumbless hands, saying "Boy, do I have egg on my face!"

Serious questions about their time travel theories.

Even more questions about the future of the franchise. You've got half the world's population dead. They come back after five years. What sort of massive, foundational societal shifts are going to happen? How much like the "real world" can the MCU world be now? Hard enough to imagine things seeming "normal" after an alien invasion of New York City - something like this would cause social and cultural upheaval on an unimaginable scale. But Peter Parker's just going to go back to high school and deal with prosaic, Peter Parkerish high school problems? Throw in the likelihood that none of the former dead experienced any sort of afterlife and you've got religious upheaval to make the Council of Nicea, the Moorish conquests, the Crusades and the Enlightenment look like a legacy of cordial disagreement. True, I'm probably thinking about it too deeply, but still.

I don't think that literally snapping has to be the function. If Thanos had no fingers he never would have made a glove in the first place. But it seems plausible that using the stones, especially on that scale, requires some kind of focus and having a physical action to help that focus could be important. Like in Infinity War when he pulls apart the moon, probably not even using all the stones he had, he did that kind of strained pulling/throwing motion. You would assume not necessary, or maybe not with practice, but Thanos did it to accomplish what he wanted.

The rest is interesting too. I guess we'll find out in Spider-Man in July? Or if it's out of timeline order, maybe with whatever movie comes after. I don't think they'll focus on it too much because this is the MCU and not the Left Behind franchise, but what exactly happened with the 'dead' is an interesting question. Some of the people had looks on their faces like they had been doing something for five years. Will there be Soul Stone flashbacks? Did they think the other half died, or do they remember dissolving? After five years of living in the resource-rich utopia that Thanos envisioned, will those who lived the whole time share their bounty or decry it as socialism?

Thor's character - both the seriousness and the humor - was pitch-perfect in Infinity War. In Endgame, not so much. Fat Thor just didn't do it for me. It was like a lessor writer trying to hit the same notes.

I think in Endgame, the writers cared much less for continuity, in either plot or character, to the detriment of the movie.

I think they do a lot to keep the actors happy and on board with playing the Characters. Can you imagine if they quit making Batman movies because Michael Keaton didn't feel it challenged him as an actor? Hugh Jackman was tired of doing Wolverine long before he called it quits. They were mixing it up for him with different story angles so he wasn't just redoing the same thing every movie.

They made it clear that Spider-Man felt like only a few minutes had passed.
They made it clear that time travel simply turned all those events of going back into the past and turned them into events of the new future.
For all the people brought back, the only change is that the other half is 5 years older.
The movie is really a mess. If someone lived 2 years into the interim and died of natural causes, it would be really confusing to the people brought back. 5 minutes elapsed for them , but their loved one died 2 years ago. 5 minutes elapsed for them, but Tony Stark has a toddler.
I say go back in time and fix the end of Endgame.

The fate of the Vision is never really addressed.
Is a Black Widow movie going to be set in the past? Will it be her and Hawkeye in Budapest? I'm caring less and less about both of those characters because they shove them down our throats too much.

I saw it yesterday with 2 of my kids. I was totally disappointed. I tried to avoid Yahoo and sights that had spoilers. I do not even think it would have mattered if I heard some spoilers. This movie was terrible. What I did not like:
1.Fat Thor
2.Smart Hulk
3.Tony Starks rambling on at the beginning of the movie.
4.Captain Marvel popping out of no where and being this bad ass.
5.Thor and Starlord awkward discussion about who is in charge near the end.
6.Hawkeye being Ronin which seamed like a waste of what could have been a really good story.
7.A waste of Winter Soldier,Black Panther and Dr. Strange being they were virtually irrelevant to the movie.
8.No teaser after the credits
9.Disney now has X-men and FF, however they had Scarlet Witch looking as lame as ever. She has an awesome costume in the comic books and I was hoping to see MCU give her costume the justice it deserves, even though I was happy to see her beat up on Thanos.
10. Weak soundtrack
11. This one is on MJR theatres(The theater was too hot for me to be comfortable).
HERE IS WHAT I DID LIKE:
1.Seeing Steve Rodgers get his wedding ring.
2.Antman/Giant Man.
3.Rocket Racoon
4.No major new villians(It would have been a waste)
5.Tony Stark meeting his dad.

Maybe I will have to see it again in about a month. Maybe I will like it more a second time around.
My kids also had to nudge me as I was falling asleep about 2/3 of the way into the movie. I think I even enjoyed the Auqaman movie more than this trainwreck. Normally I am not this negative about things, however I did not feel like the money that I spent was justified. Ok, I will stop.

Unsure why they began with her looking as she did, it always seemed strange to me as well....but once they began using her with a given look it wouldn't have been practical for her to return from the decimation sporting a full new costume and appearance I wouldn't think....

Shouldn't it really be called the "mediumation" instead of decimation? Doesn't really roll off the tongue, but more accurate.

Just saw it. It was good, but not as good as I.W. Either that or it simply wasn't what I was expecting. All in all I'm satisfied, though there were of course plenty of eye-roll moments for me (hate agendas being pushed on me).
I do NOT like the last two "Stan cameos". It's cheap and disturbing. I did love Jim Starlin's cameo. That was great to see.

Worth the watch, but just as easily worth the wait for dvd if you can avoid spoilers until then.

Oh, wait. I forgot about Captain Marvel's haircut. DAMN, this movie sucked!!!
