A teaser for Joaquin Phoenix's 'JOKER' movie is going to drop tomorrow. Where is everyone at in terms of anticipation?

I think it's going to be a very good movie. Seems very different than the DC faire we've gotten to date

Oh and this poster was just revealed:

I have high expectations considering it's staring Joaquin Phoenix.

I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Joaquin is an incredible actor so that's a definite plus but I feel like the story is going to be so far removed from the comics and that's a big minus.

I'm definitely seeing it opening weekend but if I'm disappointed I wont be surprised.

I question the reasoning behind making stand alone films outside of the DC movie universe.

As long as it isnt the Jared Leto version, I can try to be open minded.

If this movie sucks, then Joaquin will just head over to MCU and be Paste Pot Pete.

I expect this to be a very cerebral and raw character study, a noir-esque 'NYC in the 1980s' period piece.

Todd Phillips (the director) has said his inspiration comes from Scorcese's 'The King of Comedy' and Darwyn Cooke's "Batman: Ego" OGN

I watched the trailer this morning. I think it should do really well. DC is playing on the "Deadpool Formula" angle of origin movies.

Definitely digging it. Got a Taxi Driver (1976) vibe from it.

Looks like they’re taking a lot from the flashback sequences in ‘The Killing Joke’.

@00slim I was thinking Taxi Driver too when I watched the trailer.

It has that traditional french clown vibe with the costumes and music.

I think this will be like a surprise huge hit or a complete flop, I just can't see this surviving in the middle.
It's too far outside the norm of recent Joker's but it might extend into the realm of impressive cinematography which means the old-school critics may love it. Fans hate it, critics love it?

I'll be seeing it.

Joaquin Phoenix could potentially be as good as Heath Ledger, if not better, as Joker

I guess I am now obligated to watch film. Apparently my brother took part in the film and has an entry in IMDB credits.
