Silver Age Circulation Info?8695

Collector tonnage71 private msg quote post Address this user
I recently picked up a mid-grade copy of Fantastic Four #2, graded by the “other guys”. Based on their census data I know about 1000 copies have been graded in total and it got me thinking about the press runs of Silver Age books from the two major publishers of the time. Does anyone know if that information is publicly available? I’m curious to estimate how many books still “exist” (obviously knowing that a number of raw copies may still be floating around) compared to the amount originally printed. Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Publicly available? Yes. Digitized and easily searchable online? Unlikely.

Comichron has the postal statement of circulation numbers for many titles from 1960-1969, but unfortunately,Marvel didn't file statements for Fantastic Four or Spider-Man until 1966.

Tales of Suspense and Tales to Astonish were both averaging about 185,000 a month in 1961, but not sure how FF sold in comparison to those books, higher or lower?
