https://www.ebay.com/itm/Police-Comics-70-Golden-age-key-Solid-comic-No-reserve-/202617346586 I’ve listed a handful of golden age comics if anyone is interested. Some have a reserve and they aren’t getting any action so if you’re interested feel free to make an offer. Also, does anyone know about very old chewing gum cards? |

During 1933, the National Chicle Company of Cambridge, MA issued their first series of “Sky Birds” airplane cards. It appears that the initial series contained “48 ” cards. It was broken into two phases. Cards 1 to 24 were issued during 1933, while cards 25 to 48 were issued during 1934. A second series was issued in 1934 and included a reissue of cards 1 to 48 from the original series plus 60 additional cards. Originally the second series was to contain “144 ” cards as noted on the reverse of the cards. However, only 108 titles were issued. There appears to be print variations on the reverse side of these cards. This would suggest the possibility that the series may have been reissued. We originally reported "green" and "black" ink print variations on the reverse sides of some of the cards. Closer examination of these cards shows a very "dark green" rather than black ink. Other collectors have noted "black" ink variations. The number of cards in these printings is therefore a mystery ... we know it's at least 108. |

However it was the American Chicle company that manufactured Chiclets! Both companies manufactured chewing gum and added these cards as a way of increasing sales. Nuff said. | ||

Quote:Originally Posted by Roarshack Weird, when I click these 2 links I can see these books but when I got to "see other items" neither one is shown. It only shows 7 books for sale but seems like there should be at least 9? Are there more? I don't see any with a reserve unless that's because there are no bids on those yet |

Quote:Originally Posted by Helric1 Strange. I’m getting the same thing when I follow the link. They show up when I go to my eBay page, not using the link. Damn. I also posted an iron man #55 with no reserve that I would like to see get attention. I’ll keep messing around and see if I can figure it out. |
