For my book about the DC Comics representative who sold the company's comic books outside of the US & Canada (1948-1983), I'd appreciate comments on the following. At least in the immediate post war years, there was resistance to importing Superman comic books because of A. their pro capitalist or B. their pro democracy messages. i.e. in France because of A and in Franco's Spain because of B. Could someone email me a photo of a page with pro democracy and or pro capitalist/free enterprise content (especially from the late 40's or the 1950's) OR brief summaries of such content along with date of publication. I guess this cover could be construed as making a capitalist statement with the modern appliance containing an abundance of food. ![]() OO mm |
