So just was looking at ebay again and copies of 684 really creeping up too...so what book do you guys think ends up being "the key" is it IH #2, or avg 684? A 9.6 cgc ih #2 is up to $133 with 4 days to go🤷‍♂️

Seems amount of 1st print #2 available on ebay is dropping off and price keeps climbing .. Perhaps potential sellers are getting their copies graded?

If we’re only talking A 1st print covers, My guess is #2, mostly because it’s a true first appearance and likely much lower print run.

Does every single issue #1 of the regular A cover have that staple rub like defect on the front just to the right of the top staple? I have yet to see a copy without it. I should look at some slabbed copies on eBay to see it they’re on the 9.8s.

Was thinking two is only the cameo. Thought first app.was 3. For my.money issue 14 return Betty Ross and best cover. If investing I am going with Avengers 684

this book is insane!!! I lucked out - wasn't going to get it but my LCS owner turned me onto it. Have all issues and I normally don't buy 2nd prints or variants but by chance I picked up issue 2 variant because it was at cover price on the rack - just crazy

Drogio , my regular covers of 1 and 2 have those rubs, variants however don’t. And for reference to grading issue 2 im leaving my 1:25 variant with cbcs at my local con this weekend.

Most graded 684's only say brooks cover - have only seen one that says "hulk gains new powers and becomes 'Immortal Hulk'". I'm gonna say that the whole story ark of this is that eventually Hulk will lose these powers and just be plain Hulk - no immortal. Only immortal person in Marvel U is Aunt May!!!

I see plenty of 9.8s on eBay with them. So just about all must have them.

Good to know.. My #2 has quite clear rubs to right of top staple.. #1 has very slight rubs

I just assumed my #2 won't grade well.. But interesting if it's common.

Yes. And a scratch on top right front corner and over his left forearm at right outer edge on front cover.

I have 5 sharp copies that all look exactly like this with the staple rub and production scratches. I am seeing a ton of 9.8s with these same exact 3 defects. So it comes down to rounded corners and chipped spines

This one is okay, it's got 2 tiny spine ticks I tried to push out. Fingers crossed.

Just read on another site that Hulk #12 and #13 from the 2000 run are being heavily spec'd for this Immortal run. I know I snagged these a month or so ago...Devil Hulk is possibly being tied into the story shortly.

Anyone who jumped on the Red She-Hulk books might want to throw a few bucks at these books if you can find them locally. I think mine were around $3 a piece when I got them.

12 was already gone when I got to my lcs. Hitting a second.

Is that devil hulk on the cover of 13?

I could be wrong, but I believe that's Guilt Hulk...

Devil Hulk pops up through the run, I snagged all the books with Devil Hulk in them...I believe Devil Hulk is on the cover of #28. Speculation was that One Below All is actually Devil Hulk with a "Devil Hulk" name drop appearing in issue #7 of the Immortal run.

That being said, Guilt Hulk is also 1st appearance in 12/13...personalities could have merged. Can't wait to see how this one plays out.

Yeah, I picked up 13 and issue 28. Definitely not Devil Hulk on the cover.

Although flipping through issue 28 I found this panel...immediately reminded me of the cover to Immortal Hulk 15...coincidence?

Nice Catch! This is the one that got me too, there's definitely a lot of homage going on around that spec run...

Have you seen the prices these are fetching on eBay right now? $75 for the set of the two?? Be funny if this was a gag...

@Drogio yeah crazy... also crazy, I literally, last month traded that entire run(1-113-incredible hercules start)for some slabbed books..I dont think I regret it, yet. No way those prices stay. I like the book, I still feel this is a bubble though

@Darkseid_of_town you're not missing anything, except those comics in your collection of course. Since I'm noob I didn't even know what a connecting variant is and only got the immortal hulk connecting variant, not the others. I did get 5 copies of it though, it arrived yesterday (haven't closely examined the condition yet).

No it's a first. It lists the date published on the site as 6-6-18.

Not sure how that works when it comes to variants....such as the foil to detective 880...I think technically it's a first print, but the inside cover (indicia) probably gives it a new title like "special convention edition". When that happens the printing number scheme starts over, regardless of the remainder of the interior.

either way, shop variants seem to be treated like separate editions more than separate printings. And their value determined more by what art is on the cover (or scarcity of the print run) than what's on the interior (i.e, the story). When you take that into consideration 1st, 2nd or later printings matter very little from value/speculation standpoint.

okay so this story just gets better. I felt 15.95 for a.connecting party set was a nice deal and ordered two sets....my books arrived today and this happened.

Apparently they sold out of the regular connecting party and sent me "virgin Variants" instead...does that look right? I wasn't sure so I checked their site and it appears they are in fact sold out of the regular version.....so I assume they sent these instead in place of and did not say anything. Since I do not collect variants I assume this free upgrade is a good thing and I should be happy based on the fact the virgin version costs double...do I have this right?

It doesn’t sound right, I think they sent you the wrong comics. If you got your order in before they sold out online you should have gotten the copies you ordered. They would contact you otherwise. I’m sure they have extras that aren’t up for sale, especially If some got sent in for grading they sometimes relist what didn’t pass 9.8 screening.

but do you like them better than the trade dress? If your plan was to flip, you definitely made out. How many sets did you buy?

I don't know about these books in particular, but in general virgin covers are more rare and have a higher price than their equivalent trade dress. I don't know if they also appreciate or keep value better.
