Is that vampirella? Last few years must have been rough. Not a fan of this piece. Parillo has been hit or miss with me lately. Thanks for the heads up anyway!

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
I don't think that heart fits in that angel. Maybe they aren't supposed to be at the same depth though.

I would rather collect this cover and spend $50 than all those covers from Detective #1000.To many different covers but Vamp has a small run.More valuable to me plus i love Parrillos art work.

To each their own I guess...I own a ton of amazing vampirella pieces. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate parillo. He has made some amazing vampirella covers in the past.. this doesn't even look like her.
I love mayhews upcoming cover (believe it is for this same title). Just no love for this piece...variants are variants. I am a collector of art.some detective 1000 covers are crappy, while some are very beautiful. To each their own. What I do wonder is why such a low print run? Rarity/supply is good, but the demand has to be there. I hope the print run sells out to be honest and fortune is to be made for everyone.

I agree. It looks like her booby is cupped in a red coconut shell.

EDIT: Or she ripped the skin off of it and we're seeing what's underneath.

That's what I thought! It looks like the skin was flayed off her body!

She's a character Mike Royer created in the early 70's, and she appeared in "High Adventure" from Kitchen Sink Publishing. He drew this piece shortly after he started working for Disney.
I'll try to remember posting a full image later.

Lucky mouse.

EDIT: Oh, and her name is Annikki. I often wonder if George Lucas, while "borrowing" ideas from Jack Kirby's Fourth World (Darkseid, him being Orion's father, the name "Skywalker" from Justice Inc), if her name inspired "Anakin".
Probably not.

Unless someone created an image of Red Sonja prior to her 1st appearance in 1973, Annikki has her beat by at least a year.
