I might start buying some older raws and I remember a member suggesting to have the seller count the pages. Is there a place that list the number of pages for a comic? Do they differ depending on the era?

Some publishers differed from month to month! The earliest golden age books were 68 pages (64 interior plus the covers). As time went on, page count was reduced to hold down prices. 52 pages (counting covers) was common in the later golden age period. Dell seemed to vary from issue to issue in some cases between 52 and 36 page books (again that’s counting the covers). When the page count got down to 36, publishers apparently decided they couldn’t be cut any further and made the bold move of increasing the price from 10 to 12 cents.

As for a source to check how many pages a certain comic should be, I'd suggest Grand Comics Database.

Comic Book Database and Grand Comics Database are both good sources

A good rule of thumb: anything not divisible by 4 has had a page cut out for sure.

Yes, and I've seen a comic with a page cut so cleanly at the fold that it's hard to even notice that a page was cut out.

I had this exact case happen with an FF 12 and it was driving me crazy!
