DC (Rebirth) Comic 4 Packs Five Below - Reveal8213

| Came across several DC 4 packs at Five Below today...$4 each. Since I don't have a copy of issue #1 of the current Batman (Rebirth) figured I'd pick one up...wasn't sure if they are first printings or not, but for the price I didn't care. Pics below are the packaging, and what was inside of the Batman/Teen Titans #1 four pack if anyone comes across them and is curious.   Batman, Teen Titans, Superman and Suicide Squad #1's. I think some of these were in other 4 packs, but not hidden. So looks like all the 4 packs are just DC rebirth #1's hidden inside. They appear to be reprints, as the UPC symbols don't state "Direct Edition" or have the month/year like the newsstand versions do. Covers don't match the second prints (Batman 2nd print has an orange rebirth bumper sticker)..so they must be 3rd prints, my best guess. |

| Walmart’s DC reprints are odd...the issue number on their reprinted comic doesn’t match the issue being reprinted. For example, I bought a pack about a year ago that had Batman #1 rebirth (or so it looked like from the outside), only to find out it was actually issue #9 of rebirth. Kinda pissed me off. This time with five below I verified the cover art and upc symbol so that I knew that it was actually the first issue....even if it was a reprint. I’m not sure if the Walmart marvel reprints are doing. |

| I got a Forever Evil #1 lenticular out of one of these just now. Tanks for the heads-up on these being out there. It looks like in addition to the Rebirth packs there are New 52 packs as well. | ||

| It was in a New 52 pack. Also had a Future's End #29 and an Earth 2 World's End #20...I think the 4th was Justice League #34 2nd print, but not 100% sure. I bought several just to see what was in there. Figure $1.00/comic might as well. The Rebirth #1s look like first printings in every way except the advertisements on the interior pages and the missing "direct sales" in the UPC. All of the interior ads for the other Rebirth #1 comics are replaced with adds for Rebirth collected editions. But, all the new 52 are 1st prints or variants especially the lego covers. I did see some packs of Rebirth that were not #1s, but I didn't buy any; they may be actual first prints, but you can't see the bar codes in the packaging. Went to a second Five Below today and bought a few more packs just to see what else was in them. Nothing of note. A Batman All-Star #10 that might be worth $1.00 over cover, a nightwing/oracle convergence #2 variant cover and a Superman #34 combo back still polybagged. Not that these are worth anything like the lenticular, but more than the $1.00 I paid for it. Probably wouldn't treat this like a trip to Vegas or anyting. | ||
