| So was looking at books to possibly slab and noticed some tears on my ASM 361!!! Under the spidery box, by Carnages right knee and under his right foot!! Haven't has this book out in ages - was this a bindery defect maybe?? I must have just picked the best the store had at the time so I'm guessing they all had these to one degree or another... What will this do to the grade? should I just bin this!!  |

| Just had a quick look on ebay and sure enough there are others with tears in exactly the same places (some larger some smaller). What would this do the potential grade then if it is a bindery defect? |

| Looks like maybe still 9 or 9.2 with a defect if I'm reading the guide right - just pisses me off when you pull out a book and forgot there was an issue with it!! | ||

| Those tears are on 99.9% of the copies to some extent or another. They do affect the grade. If there are only a few very tiny and minor tears the book could get a 9.8. You have a much better chance at a 9.8 if the tears are only on the back cover. | ||

| I have two copies (1 signed) that have the defect. I remember looking at the copies at my LCS and they were all like that. | ||

| Both of my copies have it. One came back CGC 9.4, the other 9.6. That said, I've seen 9.8s with the defect as well.So who knows, grading on this book is a bit of a crapshoot. | ||

| @Studley_Dudley You seen mine (picture above) it doesn't have that defect. Click on that pic & zoom in close. Its prefect corners, spine, no stresses or bends. Never read. I got lucky! | ||

| I have 3 copies myself (1 signed). All 3 have those blemishes (guessing it's the cutting blades). Some of those cuts even went past the cover and dug into the first few pages. Might be hard to see but the cuts are right below the knee. Still, the unsigned copies received 9.8's while the signed received a 9.6. But looking at the spine of signed copy, there is a slight nick you can see from the glare but it's not color breaking. Maybe it was the way that copy was handled when being signed that got it lower grade but I guess that's enough. None of them were pressed.    |

| i dont think it will get a 9.8 i was hoping for 9.4 or 9.6 on mine, but that didn't happen. Notes: spine stress barely breaks color production tears bottom front & back cover  |
