I came into collecting towards the end of the popularity for Westerns.
The ones I own are things I picked up when buying collections. I own very few.

I'm not sure if this counts. It probably doesn't.

Probably the best known western character of the era was
RED RYDER...not only for his comic books but for all of
the DAISY AIR RIFLE ads that appeared in almost every comic
book on the newsstand.

His sidekick Little Beaver wouldn't be politically correct today.

I remember my dad telling me that Robert Blake (Baretta) played the character.

SpongeBob Comics #1 sells for $991! Joosh private msg quote post Address this user

You guys just made me buy this. This is on you. These really are cheap right now.
$6.50 shipped, I paid more than that on a new ASM800 at my LCS.
Looks like it will benefit from a press

Isn’t it crazy that you can buy 50-80 year old books for less than the cost of this month’s new comics? I recently bought two lots of funny animal comics on eBay, all from the 40s, 50s and 60s. The first lot was about $2.50 each, including shipping and the second was $1.67 each, shipped. And these were mainly collectible copies in the vg/vg+ range. I stopped buying new comics in 1992 to focus on collecting backwards instead of forwards and I have never regretted it for a minute!

Just bought these. The King cover with him fighting a wolf is a great cover and a solid 6.5-7.0
