Stamps on comics and their affect on the grade7961

Collector Randomdoge private msg quote post Address this user
Hey there so a few weeks ago (Canada plus Canadian post strike affected the arrival time) i won an ebay auction for JLA 43 and on the description the seller said from his opinion it would be mid grade vg/f so anyway it came and i digged it needs a nice cleaning but other than that it looks good, until i started checking the pages and saw this huge sore to the eyes. I was thinking of sending this to get graded but now im not sure how drastically will the stamp affect it

Books can still pull in the 9.X's with date stamps/initials on the covers - pretty sure a stamp inside the book won't affect the grade much.

agree with KatKomics, don't think the stamp will affect the grade on this book

Agreed there is no affect at this level.
Some stamps are cool. I've only found one semi key with my birth date.

Overstreet says if the book is 9.6 or lower the stamp does not affect the grade if I recall

Here's mine, with a date stamp. I actually like the stamp, as it tells exactly when the comic came out. (The official publication date is usually off by a few months.)

I have received 9.6’s on several books with stamped dates on the cover. It makes me wonder if they would have been 9.8’s if they weren’t marked.

Does this apply to other stamps as well or just date stamps?

Spider-Man 1 (1990) had two versions (Silver and Regular) that we’re signed by McFarlane and stamped on the back with a small red spiderweb.

I’ve been debating on sending them in for VSP but wonder if the stamp will be an issue.

Thanks!

It doesn't affect the grade, but the CCA stamp usually limits my interest!
