| I have never had a book pressed or cleaned. I just got a very nice Avengers Annual 10 with NM potential except for what looks like a little tape adhesive remnant on the cover. Would cleaning handle that? Is there just a cleaning option without pressing? If the cleaning didn't work could I just get a Raw Grade for the book? What is the pricing on pressing/ cleaning? | ||

| Hello! Could you post a picture of this adhesive stain? I am a pretty experienced restorer and Without looking at it, would say you probably are not going to be able to get it completely off unfortunately. I do believe CBCS does offer raw grading with out being slabbed. All the best! |

| There are probably people that would clean without pressing (or vice versa), but CBCS only offers both. The website makes it sound like a light cleaning: https://www.cbcscomics.com/dry-cleaning You can get a press check done, where they'll look at the book and only clean/press it if they think it will improve the book's grade. You could also probably ask them to only raw grade it if fails a press check but you'd want to check with customer service. Despite having a pressing page on the website, and a pricing page, CBCS very stupidly does not have the pricing for pressing on the website that I can find. If it's up to date, the forum has a post with prices in post 77 of this thread https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/1872/page/3/cbcs-pressing/post77 . Your book would be $12 unless you think it can pull a 9.8. |
