Picked up this set of HC books. Signed by Harvey Kurtzman... They contain all of the first 1952 series 1-23

3 Pages from the CrossGen 22 issue series Route 666. The scans don't do justice to John Dell's fantastic inks. It's almost TOO fine for comic book reduction.

Went States-side abd in our travels hit 5 Below for some blind bags. Not bad for $1 a book...Wal Mart was all sold out of DC.

Those Spideys must look pretty clean and solid, @Frontier2Xterra. 👍🏼

@00slim Thanks! They are in pretty good shape. A few creases and some dirt but being sent for a press and clean too. Can't wait to see them when done.

@Frontier2Xterra Nice books! I'd forgotten all about the Enforcers. How a lasso-wielding dude in a purple suit and white hat could slip my mind, I'm sure I don't know.

I believe they cameoed in Homecoming. Were they the robbers in the Avengers masks?

edit - no posting of PGX allowed - mods

Thinking about breaking it loose and getting it pressed and cleaned and resubmitting it to CBCS

@bige31 Not a bad idea. Just be prepared for the distinct possibility of a grade drop if CBCS grades it. PGX is famous for their loose grading. If it maintains the 9.2, that would be awesome.

Sorry mods. Was not aware of the no PGX policy. Makes sense though. For those who are wondering what it was it’s a amazing Spider-Man 238 with tatooz. It’s a 9.2 and like @00slim said it would be awesome if it came back a 9.2 from CBCS. wouldn’t be surprised if it stalled though.

I just got the Venomnibus Vol. 2

It’s a blast from my childhood, I tell ya! As I leafed through the book, I came up on page 1146

They mispelled my middle name but I was probably less than 10 years old when I drew and sent it in. It was pretty wild seeing it in there.

@BrianGreensnips Thanks! It’s a reprint from the old fan art pages so I should dig up the original issue (probably in my collection), sign it and send it in for a yellow label lol

Saw these books and they just jumped out at me - now I'm afraid to actually read them - might get the collected edition.

Also picked these up - not sure how the ink on the Inhumans affects the grade??

There is a convention this weekend -I'll see if I can find some readers, if not I'll have to order the hardcover.

Was able to find out a little about these books

clickable text

This article only showed 2 pages but it was enough that I had to get all the books, from the description I can tell that this is the type of story I would like and from the covers and the pages also the type of art!

"But what you probably don’t know is that Leonard Starr, of Little Orphan Annie fame, and Stan Drake, of Blondie fame, teamed up in 1980 to begin crafting a series of what were then known as graphic albums for the French publisher Dargaud. These graphic albums—what we would now call graphic novels—were geared toward an adult audience and featured nudity and violence, the likes of which would have horrified most Sunday comics readers in America.

Though long out of print, Dargaud released English-language versions of these graphic novels in the United States in the early 1980s, under the series title Kelly Green, named after the main character of the books. And as obscure as they are today, they are, simply put, some of the best-looking crime comics ever produced.
