Quick question about Uncanny X-Men #400793

I’ve got about a 100 copies of these from a recent collection I bought but as I was sorting them, I notice some were thinner than others. Taking a closer look... sure enough, about 1/3 of the pile have about 5 sheets less from center. However, the staples remain tight and are curled inward as they should. It would appear that the thinner books were manufactured with less pages for some reason.

I did a quick search on Google and I couldn’t find any mention of errors, recalls or flaws. I know these books are not worth anything but the mystery of why 1/3 of these books would be manufactured with less pages is keeping me awake at nights. Does any know anything about this?

Thank you in advance for any info

Maybe less advertisements? Direct sales vs. news stand copies?

The issue has 52 pages (including covers), if it has less, it might be missing story or ad pages. What are the 2 center pages of the copies with less pages? The 52 pages should have the centerspread left page saying UNDERNEATH THE CATHEDRAL at the top and the right page starting with "...as you shall soon learn."

...or just do a page by page comparison and see what is 'missing'.
