The wonderful thing about Ticks...is Ticks are a wonderful thing...their tops are made of antenna...their bottoms are made of the, er, legs.

They're bitey, sucky, bloody, grody, fun fun fun fun fun.

But the most wonderful things about Ticks is NEC keeps them in print even after all these years.

That is such a sweet piece to have in the collective.
Isn't that about $350-$400?

Thank you very much Despain. It is one of my most cherished pieces in my collection. Placing a value on a book such as this is difficult as they do not surface very often, and then when they do the condition has to be factored in. If I were to come across another copy (fingers crossed) priced at $350-$400 I would definitely be very interested in purchasing it.

Loved the Tick cartoon that was on in the 90's. The guy who did the Tick's voice (Townsend Coleman) was spot on and really carried the humor of the Tick over the top. He also did the voice of Michelangelo in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on about the same time. What I did not know and just found out is the voice of Arthur was done by Micky Dolenz, better known as one of the members of the Monkees.

How is this ...

Better than this...

@roarzola How? Because according to one of the producers it'll be "darker and more grounded" than the original take on the character, with a "real story, a real hero's myth."

We also have to keep in consideration that these photos are of a PILOT

I am sure the actual show, if approved, will have better costumes.

At least, one can hope.

I am still hugely in favor of just continuing the cartoon, but bringing in Samurai Paul and Oedipus

It looks like they are trying to put those little designs on the suit like they did with Spiderman, Thor, and Captain America. To make it look like little scales.

I know it is a little thing, and it probably didn't happen in the books, I always liked when the antenna's moved according to his mood.

For instance, in the original live action, the scene where he was crushed under the elevator in the elevator shaft. You see the top of his head and the antenna were twitching.

It just doesn't look right.

@roarzola It looks like Robocop if the costume was made out of winkled, blue trash bags

I'd say blue duct tape.

If they are going "dark and more grounded" I think they've already lost touch with the source material.

I think IntoAnother would be the one to explain what direction they are planning in going as he talked to Edlund and crew at SDCC in passing about it.

If he's still excited about it, it cannot be that bad
